Mine was a Pentium I 150 mHz with 2 GB of harddrive space and 64 MB RAM, Windows 95. My dad bought I was in the 4th grade. It costed him about $3000. What was your first computer? Do any of you still use a computer with a floppy drive?

If you consider web tv a computer, and in many ways it is, that was my first. Then I bought an IBM 600e laptop with 4.76 GB with windows 2000 on it. Then when that one stopped working I found another one for $187. That lasted about a year. I just bought this used compaq for $160 at a computer repair shop and am having all kinds of problems. Meanwhile, I've noticed I can get a newer IBM from ebay for about $200. I'm going back there tomorrow to see if they'll give me my money back on this one.

I think it is very worth it. Especially now, if you can afford to spend about $300, you can getr a nice one. Like the one I'm using now. The one that I bought from e-bay broke and the local computer shop told me it was unrepairable. He sold me this IBM thinkpad for $180.00. I went on e-bay just to see how much this one was going for. There is one for a buy it now price of $239 and free shipping. It probably costs over $500 brand new.

Well it was not really my computer but the first computer we ever had in our family was a Texas Instruments computer, but it was not really like anything we have today. My first PC computer was an HP. My first one at work was a Dell, and now aside from the lap top which is an HP we have all Dells.

hello dear saffrondreams, my first computer was a Intel DX4 100 Mzh. It did not have a hard disk. Only had a floppy disk and 8 MB of RAM. I boot the system with floppy and created a RAM drive of 4MB size and loaded foxpro 2.6 (exe and ovl files only). I made my programs there and saved everything on a floppy. Power failures were very painful as i have to go through the entire steps to start the machine again. It was however, my valuable possession at that time as no one had that fast a PC in that small town where I lived. It cost me Rupees 14,000.00 in Indian Rupee and the price was quite high. Happy mylotting

I got my first computer in year 2000. It was a Pentium-III 800Hz, 128MB Ram, 10GB HDD, Floppy Disk Drive, CD ROM, PS2 Mouse and Keyboards. It did include 2 USB ports (USB 1.0). And guess what, I bought it for 36,000 Indian Rupees (About $750). And today, I can get a computer of most latest configuration in such price!!

I'm going to date myself..... I don't even remember what the name of it was. I do remember that it was DOS and that it didn't have a hard drive. None of the computers then did. They all ran off floppy disks the large bendable 5in ones and the small hard plastic ones. We thought it was so cool to word process and play games on the computer.

S-3 trio 4MB video card. 4GB HD, 32MB RAM.. it was bought last 1996 or 1997.. between those years.. although i was able to use lower specs PC on school..

My very first computer was a Commador 64. I was in elementrary school. It was great! We would play games on it. I use to love 'Where in the World is Carmen San Diego' and 'Oregon Trail.' Games were a lot more educational back then, but they were still a lot of fun. It is better to have fun and learn something, than to just have fun :o)!

My first was probably actually a laptop from the early 90's It was a Gateway2000 Nomad 450dxl laptop, roughly 100mhz and 8mb of ram with a 200 mb hdd with Windows 3.1. I later upgraded it to Windows 95 and it still runs to to this day as my data bank for misc stuff that i dont' want accessed from the net. the internal modem was ripped out for security reasons so the only way to obtain the data is by direct access. but yeah, it was a top of the line computer back in it's day
