Lately I have been looking at e-bay for few things for the new baby. I am looking for brand new things like pump, change table that sort of things. Now with the pumps I have seen how much they are in the shops and have done my research well. A particular pump that is sold in the shops from $69 to $109 (this price is on line shops) the other day was sold for $110.58 plus $15 postage WHAT THE??????
Why dont people do their research first. E-bay is suposed to be cheaper (well thats what everyone sais) But this is not the first time I have noticed that.
Have you noticed anything go way pass reasonable price on line?

With the state of things and so many stores having sales and specials a lot of new aren't cheaper on Ebay.
I used to by pefune, but now that's so competative in the stores, a lot of perfumes are cheaper in the big discount places, like 'Priceline" or Chemists Warehouse.
And a lot of new things seem to be so close to the retail price, taht when you pay postage, it ends up more expensive on Ebay.

I hear you. When I look at an item I see over all how much it would cost incuding postage as well. If its more then in the shops I wont even look at it. My friend wanted to copy us when we got my son one of those cars that run on bateries. We went to Myer when they had a huge sale (when the new owner came) and we got it from $899 to $250 brand name. She went on e-bay got some cheap plastic one that they had to put together bit by bit (with few things missing) that ended been more expencive than ours and her son has never tried it because it doesnt run because some part is gone.

Morning, violet_va....I just consider e-bay a convenient Super Store in my Computer! e-bay does NOT control the price the sellers put on their product, and it is really up to us to compare! You've abviously done your research...but sellers are going to charge you whatever the traffic will bear..and as long as we continue to pay (or someone does)they will charge what they want!
I am sure you are a great buyer, better than I will be...but I have researched, every possible source before I check out "e-bay"...I have all the facts, figures, Model #'s on hand so that I can really compare!
I'm sure you know, but I didn't....Pay Pal will only refund the cost of the product, and NOT the shipping costs! And e-bay has NO control over the shipping costs....so when you find a product cheap, and shipping costs high...that is how the seller is making their buck..or twenty!
I look at it as "e-bay" is just the vehicle...we are the driver!
Is your weather settling down a bit...sure hope you are not anywhere near where the wild fires are? Our news tells us, that it is possible that a crazy arsonist is setting these fires! Stay safe!

Yes I do know all of this thats why I dont buy much because I know that its a buyers market and sellers will get as much as people pay. Here in Australia e-bay has a say in the postage department for many things and that is great because people will sell something for 99c and charge $20 for postage where it should be the other way around

Here in Canada...our shipping costs are not controlled! Hence, I bought a beautiful bronze 108 piece cutlery set (identical to the one I own) for my son & his fiance for Xmas...I had paid many years ago..(1981) nearly $1000.00 dollars!a Found it on auction..in Nanaimo...not more that 25 miles from me as the crow flies! I got it for $9.72....Wow! But the shipping bit me...$58.65..it would have cost me less than that to drive there & pick it up...but wouldn't let me! All in all...it was a beautiful set...and I did end up with a bargain!
