Have you ever been stopped by the police or been involved with the police? Did you do something wrong or was it for frivolous reasons/unnecessary harassment? If yes how many times ? Did you bribe them? I have been stopped just a few times for overspeeding, driving into an invisibly marked no-entry zone....I asked where there's a sign for no-entry! he pointed to a barely visible tattered board ! I had to bribe them

There was only one time when I was involved with the police. My friends and I decided to park at this one area on a back road and watch the airplanes take off from the airport. A cop drove up got our IDs called for back-up and then decided to tell us...since 9/11 you aren't allow to watch the planes take off.

That's really weird they are gonna tell you are not allowed to watch Tall buildings as well! But if you were very next to airport obviously they should check the car of a person just parked there and obseving airport activity !

In my town there is an actual little park next to the airport which is designated for you to sit in your car or sit on the grass and watch the planes take off. There is even a sign which tells you which AM (like AM/FM) radio station to tune to in order to hear the control tower communicating with planes that are about to take off. Its really fun to hear "okay, you are cleared for take off, have a nice flight." It doesn't give out any restricted information, so anyone can listen and no one is in danger.

well, we have only been stopped here in canada by the police in a ride program...a ride program is where they stop cars randomly and test you for drunk driving. they normally do it through holiday times such as christmas.

Testing for drunken driving is also called sobreity test and invite cancelling of license or imprisonment in most places

Nah cops always abuse their power....a friend of mine was speeding and the cop pulled her over, she flirted with him and he changed his mind and didn't give her a ticket. To answer your question, yes I have been stopped and chased by the police a few times.

I've been stopped by the police quite a few times (and surprisingly.. not ALL of them were my fault!) The first few times I was driving a '94 Cutlass Supreme - and they pulled me over & shined their flashlights in my car. Once they were sure that I wasn't harboring someone they were looking for (who also drives the same car), they thanked me and let me go. Quite strage. I blame the experience on the car! Other times have been for speeding. Like most teenagers my age.. I LOVE to drive fast; as fast as my car will allow me to. I know, I know.. Eventually I'll get another speeding ticket and regret it, but it gets you to places so very quickly! :) I've only gotten one speeding ticket (in about 2 years of driving), and have been pulled over only a couple times due to minor speeding & headlight issues & such. So nothing serious, luckily! :)

I was stopped last summer and it was real weird. I turned left at the same place I always come out on and the cop stopped me and gave me a ticket for turning in a right only road. wth? well The date on the ticket was coming up and I went to the courthouse so I could pay my ticket and they said that they did not have it so I waited another week and called again and they said they still did not have , so I was getting worried so i called the prosectuter and they said that it was not turned it and she asked me if I really did get a ticket and I told her that yes I did and the cop was driving a white blazer marked with the city police on it. She said that their police dept did not have one of those!! so by now I am totally freaked out and since then the place where I had turned left on HAD A sign placed there saying right turn only and then a week later it was gone!!! the prosecuter called me about 5 days later and told me to just rip up the ticket and to not worry about it. Really weird. Now I am scared to go anywhere. Also after that I noticed that my license was missing, I could have sworn that he gave it back to me , so I had to go get a new one.

I had an embarrassing experience once - I and my sister were driving on a Sunday afternoon, coming back after a wedding lunch. There is a short stretch of road which had been made one way and we needed to take a detour of 2 kms to reach home. On that day we both thought we could save that since there was hardly any traffic being a Sunday and just as I drove on the road, out stepped a police who we had not noticed. He stopped the car and we were oo embarrassed and before he could say anything i began apologising and told him i would turn back and go,and he was quite nice about it and told us not to repeat it again , and since there was absolutely no traffic there, to carry on and join the main road. I still feel ashamed when i see this police man directing the traffic and he always gives me a knowing grin

I had never had any trouble with the police, until I started dating my (now ex) boyfriend. It wasn't like he was a trouble maker or wanted by the law, he just happened to be Asian. He was born in the USA and didn't even speak a foreign language, but because of the way he looked he was always getting bothered by the racist cops in my town (it wasn't like he was the only Asian person, I live in a town of about 1.5 million people and there are a lot of people here from all over the world). I remember the first time he was driving me home from school, it was about 8:30 at night and there were lots of people out also. Suddenly a cop pulled us over and two officers got out. One went to the drivers side (where my boyfriend was) and one came to the passenger's side (where I was). We got the common "where are you guys headed tonight?" And then the conversation turned really odd. "How do you know each other?" And, "are you okay Miss?" And "What are you two doing together?" Why? Because he is Asian and I am White, so he must have kidnapped me and was holding me against my will? Hurray for the 21st century! Things have really changed.+ XOXO

I've been pulled over twice, and got a ticket both times. But I do admit that I totally deserved it the 2nd time. The first time...not so much. The first time I ever got pulled over was when I had just gotten my license and, of course, I was somewhere my parents told me not to go, and now they had a ticket as proof I was there. The ticket was for speeding, but it turned out that my speedometer was off by about 7 miles per hour and the speed had just dropped from 55 to 45 and I didn't see the sign. The cop was a total jerk and that stupid ticket cost me something like $125!! I was sooo mad@ The second time wasn't so bad, the policeman was much nicer and I definately deserved a ticket! ha ha! I was driving and getting ready for a date (not a great combo). I had the rear view mirror pointing at me (checking my make up) and I wasn't half paying attention. So I'm stopped at a red light and I saw the light change and went...well...or should I say I THOUGHT I saw the light change. So, it turned out that only the left turn arrow was green and I had run a red light. The policeman stopped me and asked if I knew why he stopped me and I literally had no idea. He told me what I had done, I appologized profusely and took my ticket. He was nice though and let me go to driving school instead of taking the points on my license and having my insurance raised. WHEW!!

I've been pulled over several times for speeding and once for turning left where there was no left turn. I was lost and just trying to get back to where I had come from. I turned left with a policeman driving right behind me and he pulled me over. I think he must have really believed that I was lost because he let me go without a ticket. I got speeding tickets two of the times that I got pulled over for speeding and got let off probably another three or four times. I've never bribed the police. When I've gotten pulled over, I've just been very nice and respectful and apologized for speeding. One of the times I didn't get a ticket, my son who was a baby at the time was screaming in the backseat, so the officer might have just felt sorry for me (or for the baby)!

I have experience some police can be bribed. I had turn left on a no left turn street and then he came and stop me over. I kinda convince him and gave him a little money and he secretly accepted it. I was stop over for switching a lane and I ran so fast that he can't catch me...hehehe...i had some crazy stuff going before...

I've been stopped once before. I had been pulled over for speeding. I had been using my mother-in-law's car (with her permission), but she had never bothered to register it or get it insured. As both of these things are required where I live I thought I was going to be in big trouble with the cop so I was beyond terrified! But he could see I had been stressed out...my 11 year old son, who was maybe 3 and a half years old at the time, was in the backseat having a fit. So the cop let me off with a warning. Thank goodness!

Yes! Three times last summer! My car had expired license plates! Was fined the first 2 times. The last time I told my story to the officer and I just sent in the money to renew the plates. He checked on his computer and found put I did send in the money and would be getting my stickers in a day or two! Why is all happen because I had to have my car pass emissions. It failed twice and I did not have the money to get the car worked on! Luckily the state I live in decided as of 6/01/o7 that cars older then 1995 did not have to pass emissions to be relicensed anymore! My car was a1994 and this rule was way over due!!

I have been stopped several times for speeding. Once the policeman asked me if there was any reason why I was going so fast. I said, "Yes, but not one that you wouldn't give me a ticket for." The next time I was stopped I said, "What's wrong? Aren't there any criminals in this town besides the ones trying to get home from work?" But, I WAS speeding, and they were doing their jobs. A smart mouth never gets you out of trouble. I got the ticket both times.

Thank god, no, but an interesting story is that my brother was once pulled over for doing a 55 in a 45, when I even looked at his speedometer when he was pulled over, and he was going 43. It was so ridiculous, but our mom babysits for a cops daughter, so we actually got connected, and got the ticket thrown out. How awesome is that!?
