-Stainless steel is a better pick than plastic, as far as what the ring is made out of. -Make sure she doesn't mess with it too much! This causes infection. Also: she should keep her sleeves rolled up - at least until the healing process is done (you don't want her clothes to catch on it). -Tell her to buy some Bactine. That stuff is a LIFESAVER! especially when you get your first piercings. (it worked for me for my nose, cartiledge, lip, & monroe!) And did you know that an eyebrow piercing is considered a surface piercing? So I'd assume that this surface piercing wouldn't hurt all too much. My sister has a surface piercing on the back of her neck. I kind of like it - although she got it done professionally. Kudos to you for piercing it! It looks good and straight. :) Do you plan on becoming a piercer?

yeah...the bar is stainless steel...she just let me to it for my portfolio...but she likes it so she might want to keep it...in that case im thinking of getting a surface staple. so if she likes it we will find a way to keep it for her. yeah we put bactine on it. lol i know that stuff is amazing...i told her to keep it clean and all that good stuff..she didnt think it hurt that much...just a little sting coming out i guess..i didnt think it would lol...but yeah i plan on doing that at least for a while...so im just getting a portfolio started..glad i have a cool sis that will let me poke her and then pose for me lol! but thanks for the advice!

Sure, no problem! I wish I had a sister who was skilled at that kind of thing. One time, a few years ago (in my crazier days..) I convinced my sister to try to pierce my belly button - and she did it SO slow and SO very crooked and it hurt SO BADLY and it ended up getting infected and I had to take it out. Moral of the story? Be happy you have that talent! :) Good luck with your portfolio! Do you have experience doing regular piercings (such as lip, nose, ears, etc) or has it mainly been surface piercings?

Wow.. ok first off. Its to close together.. Second off is that a straight metal barbell???? NOT GOOD. What you need to use is Teflon. Its a bendable plasic that they use inside the body. Wrist piercings are more serious than people think. I wouldn't attempt them unless you are a Professional Body Piercer and have watched another Professional do it. Even surface barbells are tricky to use. Its hard to get the exact measurements of the length to fit properly in the skin with the 90degree angle of it. It is straight, so I give you that. If you want it to heal, I always recommend Emu oil to all my customers who I give surface piercings. Teflon and Emu Oil.. Remember that. Those are the only ways I've seen any surface piercing heal and stay for a long time. A girl still has one I did in her arm 8 years ago by using these two things.

well it wasnt meant to stay..she just wanted to help me get experience...im starting a portfolio and that picture will go in it...i purposely left space on the sides for swelling...she swells a lot so i left room for that...she also has a very tiny wrist...which you cant see from the picture very well but i couldnt have done anything bigger...its definitely not a big deal if you know what youre doing

if she wants to keep it were going to put a surface barbell in because i dont trust the teflon...

Hi, brit_200. She is one brave sister, because I don't think that I could stand that kind of pain for myself. I would be in pain for many days. I can just feel the ache of this piercing.. How did you manage to stay strong without getting sick while doing this??

How you did it, what metal you used; here piercing is done using fine sharp wire of pure gold, it is further heated in flame and wiped with spirit, so that is is totally safe

Way to go! I love it. I think I want one now....hehe. I have 16 right now and that one would take the cake. I want to do the corset one next but the boyfriend said not yet. He wants my back piece to get done first. Good luck with the piercing portfolio!
