Angry citizens jamming phone lines

It is being reported that so many people are mad about the 900 billion dollar bail out plan that capital hill phone lines are getting jammed. This has been going on for a couple of weeks now. Our elected officials are finding their voice mails full on a daily basis....full of messages from people mad as heck about the "stimulus plan". Have you contacted your elected officials about this plan? DO you think it will make a difference? If htey pass this plan and it does not fix the mess we are in (and it won't) most of them I think can just about bet on not getting re-elected. Too many people will be ticked off and screaming for blood. What do you think?

Well it nearly stopped the bailouts, didn't it? Fear of losing their jobs that give them so much money (and power)...is usually enough to spook most of the politicians. I know the stimulus still passed, but that thing went under constant metamorphosis...so I'm sure this anger did SOMETHING.

I can't disagree. Really, protesting in the streets was warranted before this point...I'm not sure what's stopping people.

We did not get angry enough to stop it.We should have been protesting in the streets. That would have stopped them.

I think whether the fact I call or not is probably irrelevant. However, I really hope that it doesn't pass. I read a breakdown of what the money goes to and it's pretty scary. It's basically nothing that would actually stimulate the economy.

exactly. it is just a huge bill of pork. I know I have contacted mine. But that is just because it makes me feel better to know I at least said something about it weather it stops it or not.

The bright side to Washington is that when the phone lines are jammed, no one else can get a word in.

The country is in an up roar over stimulus plan. I am not surprised they are getting so many calls that there voice mail is clogging up. I haven't called yet but I don't agree with this stimulus package. I don't think its going to work and this country is just going to be in deeper debt. I think we will be paying for this for years.

I agree. People are getting mad. It is good to see them finally standing up for themselves.

Direct democracy (also known as mobocracy) is a very poor form of government. It's a "mob rule" mentality. What's the expression? It's like 2 wolves and a sheep voting on what they are going to eat for dinner. The majority is not always right.
