Are we allowed to double space when responding to others and starting discussions
here at mylot? I just starting doing this so people can read my responses better.
But I do not want to get in trouble either, please someone let me know if this is
allowed? Thanks and happy mylotting as well

We can read even if it is single line spaced. (When I read this topic, I thought each line to be separate paragraphs. The continuity of reading was really missing, at least for me)
And if you are separating paragraphs, will you leave 3 or 4 lines in between? I'm sure it will your topic unreadable.
I want to read it in one go without scrolling up or down. If you leave double line space, it would not be possible. I hope all the mylot people will think my way.

Okay then you are suggesting to keep it single spaced. I just thought maybe it might be easier to read it if it was double spaced. To me I think it looks better but if you feel that it looks better single spaced than I will continue it that way. Thanks for your response.

I don't read in TOS that is is a no-no. But I just type as I would a letter...spaces between paragraphs only. I don't like it when a longer post has no space breaks at all - that makes it really hard to read.

okay I decided not to double space as I can see most people would not like to read writing that way. I will if I use a paragraph but other than that I will not be using the double space. Thanks for your response.

I have to agree with the above, I find it much easier to read and follow the line of thought if it is only single spaced. I have read through the terms of service but to be honest I fail to understand a lot of what they say. May be that is the way MyLot meant it so that more discussions would be conducted, after all don't they earn their income from the amount of views a page gets?

If double spacing is considered as excessive punctuation it would be against the Guidelines.
I feel that as no-one is using it and I have never ever seen a discussion saying that even one user has problems reading the discussions on myLot, then probably it is best you do like everyone else and not use it.
As the user above suggested, it can be used to seperate paragraphs but using it excessively could be a waste of space. As we are being taught to waste as little as possible, maybe it's best not to waste space either

Instead of double spacing each line, I put double spaces between separate thoughts. I use this the most when a user posts multiple questions in their discussion. I might make one paragraph to discuss the first question, then start a new separate paragraph to discuss the next question. I separate these paragraphs with double spaces.
While I don't know for sure if there are any rules or guidelines regarding the formatting of your responses, I figure it is best to make your responses easy for others to read.

I don't see why it wouldn't be. It just wouldn't count as of how long your response or discussion is. They still go by word count or however they do it, not by spacing.

This discussion you started with double space is clearly viewed, it is easy to read. I have read the guidelines and there is no restriction in starting discussion with double space, so i think you may proceed
