Stagger The Medications...

Do you ever talk to someone, either in person or online, and they are so out there that you just want to tell them they need to stagger their medication?
I run into this from time to time. There are times that I just can't believe that someone would come up with something so crazy...the only excuse I can think of is that they've taken too many delusional medications too close together. Surely they can't be that out of touch. There's even been a few times I've outright told ppl to stagger their medication...maybe it'll help.
What is your response when someone says something so out there that you can't believe they actually think that way? Do you think they need more medication or less LOL?

My initial thought is that they're off their meds...

Then again, if they're ranting and raving about something that really doesn't deserve such reaction, I might tell them to "Take a pill!"

There have been times I thought one friend was definitely over the limit and out of control. She's no longer a close friend. She's an acquaintance now even though she would prefer to be close friends I couldn't continue being friends with a drama queen. I didn't tell her she sounded groggy or made no sense. It was better not to start this kind of conversation with her as it may have been over her head!

as a therapist I don't find it funny because if they really do have a mental condition they need to be seen by a professional not a stranger on the phone.

it may not be their meds. could be they are drunk or doped up on something they shouldn't be & sometimes they are just wierd. i've seen discussions that i wondered what ws wrong w/the person who started them, responses to.

Sometimes it might be the fact that they need to start taking medication or stop eating/drinking/smoking whatever odd stuff that they are currently using.
The other thing we have to realise is that not everyone is bright or even gets the concept of what is being discussed. It can be so frustrating when some people come out with what I consider to be an absolutely ridiculouis statement. Oh I know that sometimes I have been busy typing away when I really should have been in bed because what I have said is garbage. Luckily a couple of times when I have done that, it has been in word and I have re-read and amend it before posting here to myLot.
So sometimes it is simply that the person should be sleeping rather than sitting on the computer typing or answering a phone or whatever. It is still annoying to be on the receiving end all the same though.

I have a Mylot.com. It is as if the person is not listening to you. They ask you a question and you answer it and they say something like...You brought it up. When that person asked the question and it was part of my answer. And they make no sense at all. I refuse to be friends with that of person.

I tend to be very anti medication to begin with..get that from my great-grandmother who was a nurse and thought all docs as idiots anyway....she was into natural remedies and never took anything stronger than aspirin and lived to be 98. One time my own doc gave me Sinequin which was an antidepressant ...yikes if I wasn't depressed before I sure was while taking it..I threw it out never to take it again. I keep hearing some of my friends who must be walking medicine cabinets and can't help thinking, yup they need to cut back. Also I can't help thinking if a person is especially taking a LOT of meds how the combo is affecting them, making them only worse rather than better. So many I know are always saying how drained and tired they are and sleep alot due to the medicines..what kind of way is that to live???

YES!
I know a guy who is medicated. He gets his medication at set times. You can tell the first day he gets his meds because he is just so freakin out of it. He over medicates when he gets his fresh supply. It is sooo obvious.
When he is heavily medicated he is so obnoxious. That is when he is not falling asleep.

I used to work in a court house, and boy oh boy were there a lot of crazies in there. You have no idea! I think for some reason the full moon brings them out of hiding. Really the craziest things would happen around a full moon... and that is saying a lot when your surrounded by craziness everyday anyway. If you ever have to go to court check your calendar and make sure its not a full moon, otherwise, all heck might break loose.

I have met a few people in my time that I have thought this about. OR they need to be put on medication to get them thinking straight. I think I have even came across someone like that on mylot. Some of the things he says I really don't know if he is serious and actually believes in this stuff or if he is just joking around and is in to things like that, I don't know. But all of what he says makes me believe that he really needs to start taking meds. and get into this world!! LOL

It depends who it is and how well I know them. For people that I know well and I know they need
a)stronger medication
b)to get of their medication
c)to go on medication
I try not so say much because stable person can not say things like they do and what is the point of pointing that out (they will think I need meds)
For others I would say things like "you have got to be joking", or "you dont seriusly think that is right" or something like that.

It seems to me that people do have strange belief's, more so now than ever before, maybe it is because of way too many news channels, commercials, internet or just too much darned TV.. We have almost too much access to things that are most certainly other people's opinions and some are thought to be the gospel and never checked out to see if these things they are thinking or saying are even close to the truth.. I have heard quite a few weird comments and thought, "What The Heck" now where did that come from, but I just let it go in one ear and out the other, because I don't like confrontation or arguments and I do know that there would be an argument, so I keep my mouth shut about it and let it go.. I think more medication would be the answer.. But then again, people might think the same about me, I don't know.. Have a great evening..

I hear ya! there is one guy that I get emails from that is on a social networking site I frequent that is odd, different and even alittle bizarre. Short phrases, intermittent odd slang, etc. Nothing nasty or risque but who is to say when that will start. I can delete him put him on a list so he can't have any access to me but, to be honest I am still in the curiousity stages right now.
