What is your favorite thing that runs on electricity?

Electricity is important. We need it to turn on lights, toast bread, for the use of our computers, watch TV, and many more. Can you live without it? I am surely not. :) My most favorite thing that runs on it is my laptop. I spent most of my time with it. But as a result, I don't get any high bills because of this. I used to turn off other electric appliances that I have in order to save energy and money. Since it's a laptop, I just plug it in whenever its battery turns low. So, it really conserves alot. How about you mylotters? Feel free to share.. ^^ Have a great day!!!~~~

Nowadays, living without electricity just a bit better than live without water. As both facilities classified as general public amenities in all countries in this world. My non-switch-off-24/7 electrical appliances are refrigeration(fridge), digital/alarm clocks and mini portable fish aquarium's oxygen pump. But it costs me at a very reasonable charge about $0.05/Kw and far from burdening me, having said, a common monthly electricity usage. For my laptop it does not consume much power, its AC/DC power adapter DELL charger Model PA-12[Input AC 100-240V, 50-60Hz, 133-158VA / Ouput DC 19.5V ~ 3.34A] and IF being used it in non-stop switch on 24/7 in a month it only will costs me around $10 only.

For me,the motor that we use to take water from the bore costs much.Since we live in a place where there is no surplus water and the climate is hot for more days in a year,we need more water and we use the motor often.Apart from that fans and tube lights consume much electricity in our house.

Of course it would be my computer first, then my TV, then my washer & dryer and of course in the summer time it would HAVE to be my window air conditioner because without it, I would die! I am allergic to heat and at times, my house gets up to OVER 100 degrees and that can last for weeks! Last summer I think was the worst, it stayed 105 degrees in my house for a solid month even though all night long I had all the window fans running. At night the fans brought the temperature down to 90 but as soon as the sun came up, my house started heating up again with in minutes!

Yes, without a doubt, electricity's been playing an important role in our lives.. without it, we won't be able to watch our favorite tv programs, listen to FM radio and surf the internet to name a few. Laptop is one gadget i can never let go.. It's been helping me to go through my favorite websites and earn fair income to support my needs(food, medicines, groceries, etc).. I'm grateful to the one who invented this modern gadget. It's been helping to make our lives a lot easier!

I think I would be able to live without it but while it is available my favorite thing would have to be the computer because of the internet, I don't use the computer really for any other reason besides surfing the net.

My computer wins this, hands down. I find the Internet and everything else my computer has to offer so entertaining and convenient, so I spend a lot of my time on it every day. Of course, there's Internet bills and electricity bills and whatnot, but a computer is definitely worth keeping.

My favorite would have to be my hair straightener - it's a godsend, especially on a "bad hair day". :) I only use it for half an hour a day or so, so it doesn't make a lot of difference in the electricity bill. I should also say I enjoy my desktop computer - otherwise I wouldn't be able to get on mylot!

My favorite thing that runs on electricity is my laptop. It needs electricity to recharge its battery and without electricity it would probably only keep power for two hours. I like a fridge and lights. I am very keen on traveling and have spent time away from a supply of electricity.

My computer is in the mix....but I sure don't rate it as high as you, m'dear! Only because if I didn't have my freezer, & my stove, I wouldn't eat! And order for any worthwhile thots to be conjured up....one has to feed the body, that in turn feeds the brain! I lived without a computer, til 2 years ago Xmas...and really all of the other appliances (except)TV....can be replaced in a manual manner...oops...I guess vacuum, too! Have a sparkling day, yina24!

Since we live in S. Florida I would have to say the air conditioner, most definitely. Especially during the summer. With the humidity, it would be unbearable.

Hi yina24, i grew up in the farm without any electricity so maybe i can still live without it,i find it more peaceful and very simple kind of living, but since you are asking my favorite thing that runs on electricity, it would be the computer. I do lots of things in the internet, like friendster which i can share my photos to my family and friends abroad and myloting and emailing, life is more easier with it. and it's my past time too. Happy posting.

Definitely my computer. It's pretty much my life. I'm on this poor thing constantly. I do my homework on it, I listen to music, watch movies (I don't have a DVD player ) and there is very little time I'm not on it. My second favorite thing would be my hair straightener. My hair is crazy curly frizzy and I hate it, but my CHI makes it really straight and pretty...without it I would probably wear my hair in a ponytail and a hat every day!
