If you live with your family, do you get together for dinner and have a meaningful meal with everyone getting together? Or do you all find your own time to eat and have the TV on? Do you conversate over dinner?

Every night, the seven of us gather around our tiny kitchen table (it's supposed to only seat four, but we put a bench for the little kids to sit on and the rest of us squish around) to eat our dinner. Following dinner, we'll have dessert there also. The TV is off, the cell phones are off, and we ignore the other phone if it rings. It's our time to talk about our days, to discuss anything that's on our minds, and address any concerns we have that's going on. I love that we do this!

Wow, that's so great. That is my ideal family once I get my own. Do you guys have game nights too? I'd like to do that too.

Yep, at least once or twice per week we'll have family game night. And, at least once per month we'll have family movie night - that's a lot of fun because we rent several, have a carpet picnic, and have tickle fights. hehe

For dinner, we all gather around the table and take turns talking about our day. no electronics allowed.

That's really good. I'm surprised that the people who have a meaningful get-together for dinner have only replied to this discussion... I thought there would be more people who wouldn't get together for dinner. Thanks for sharing!

I'm all about the famil dinner here. It has becom routine for us so eveyone just knows to b at the dinner table at 5:00 and dinner is served. Everything is turned off and we share dinner time together. Then afterwards evrybody runs their own way! LOL

That is really nice and really important. I think many families lack that nowadays! Thanks for sharing!
