Bad Bumper Sticker

Was driving this afternoon with my kids. Came across this sticker and it really made me mad.
"My Dog Is Smarter Than Your Honor Student"
I guess this person did not like the parents that are proud of their children. Referring to the bumper stickers that read:
My Child Is An Honor Student At(Name of School).
This just made me feel this person has no respect really for anybody. If we are not proud of our children and show them that we are proud of them, they will not want to achieve at anything. I just can not imagine anyone comparing a dog to children. Do not get me wrong I have dogs and love them, but in no way would I tell my children a dog is smarter than they are.

LOL I actually think the bumper sticker is funny...I'm sure it's meant to be a joke and not to be an insult to honor students. Then again, in all honesty, I have known some dogs that are smarter than some kids and parents.

hi sassy!
well yeah, for some people, things that they think are funny are actually already offensive to other people. but i wouldn't want to judge them. maybe they are also having personal problems and sarcasm is just their way of expressing themselves, their frustration, their anger. i am not sure what they really want to achieve with it.
anyway, just be cool, and don't let those people get to you. otherwise, they will take the best out of you.

Well I don't want to be the one to throw water on your fire but, I kinda wish I'd thought of that one. I find those bumper stickers to which you refer, rather crass. I definitely would not want to embarrass my kid, by sticking such a thing on my bumper. When we used to winter in Florida I remember a bumper sticker that was quite rude. It went like this- "I can hardly wait till I'm old and retired, so I can go to Canada in the Summer and Drive Slow!" I kid you not, this is what it said!

I've seen that bumper sticker before. I have a child that is an honor student and I wouldn't take offense to it. It is just a joke and there are a lot of people that would find it funny. I don't think that you just just think that person doesn't have respect for anybody. You would be judging him based off a bumper sticker that was just put on his car for fun. Just my opinion.
