i'm hoping my Australian friends are safe and well, if you're reading this just give me a little wave.
for the rest of the world, if you don't know what i'm referring to, Australia is suffering from devastating wildfires which have already claimed the lives of 96 of our good friends from down under.

It's absolutely horrific, Sconi. As from this morning there are over 100 lives lost and over 700 homes. At least two little towns have been completely wiped from the map - everything gone, the main street, school, police station, pub, and all the houses. Alongside the roads they are finding cars with bodies inside - these people have a few belongings packed into the back seats of the cars, but were unable to out-drive the fires. Others didn't even have time to leave their homes. It's the saddest and most ghastly time for Australia - while at the same time North Queensland is suffering terrible floods. What a country we live in. Thank you so much for your good wishes for Aussies ...

As you're probably aware, I'm a long way from home guybrush and this whole situation is devastating for me. I can't imagine what it must be like for everyone back home, even if they aren't near the areas affected.
All my blessings go out to you and everyone back in Australia and I hope this is ended quickly.

There are so many friends on here from 'down under' and I join with you in hoping all is ok with them. The news and the scenes are so destructive
Those that come to mind are Mushy and Chookie (ex Cookie) and I hope both will make an appearance here too.

hi sconibear, I had just responded to one of our mylotters in australia and as she and you said its really bad. I know just
what they are going through as we here in Southern ca have had our fill of arson started wildfires that destroyed many homes and killed a number of people. One man was lost and got trapped in a fire storm as he had tried to walk back to his home in the middle of the blazing fire. A number of firefighters lost their lives in the last big fire we had. my prayers are going out tonight to all our mylot Australia friends and hope they are safe.

Hi Hatley.
Well, I do have several good online friends from down under,,,,,,but you do realize this discussion is almost a year old?
I sure hope the fires mentioned in the article I posted are under control by now.
But anyways, thanks for resurrecting this old dinosaur.
