There is very good feature in most cell-phones for writing a text message using cell-phone's own dictionary. It is called T9
This feature completes the word. For example if you have entered "Ca" , it will show you available words starting with "ca" like car, can, cat, etc.
This is quite useful but not always for most people becasue the frequent sms users more often use short words, slang or just letters to say something and this feature will not easily let you do that unless it is turned off.
I dont use T9 normally becasue of the same reason - i dont always write full words in my messages.
What about you? Do you use it or not ?

Yes!I utilize it for messaging.I don't like abstract wordings and so I use the dictionary service.Even though I am not a great user of sms, whenever I have to sms,I use good English alone.Cheers!

I myself do not use it. TO me it is a waste of time. AS you stated I do not use full words everytime I text. On occasion I do but most of the time I do not. I love to text message though. I have thought about doing mylot from my cell but than there is a 160 charater limit so I guess I would not earn a whole lot on my responses. Slang to me is king and that is part of what text messaging is all about. I hope I answered your question and happy mylotting to you.

I don't use the T9 function on my phone because it's not really that useful in my language. Also, I'm don't text that often so I don't mind that function on my phone.

I don't use this feature as it is absolutely useless. It tries to guess the word, Ha ha don't make me laugh, it always seems to pick the most unsuitable word and trying to correct it takes longer than tapping it in, in the first place.
Sometimes manufacturers come out with all this fantastic software but won't admit when something just doesn't work and ditch it. On my phone at the moment, it automatically starts in T9 mode so before each text I have to go to the menu and switch it to ABC, such a pain.
