you should consult a pharmasist if the over the counter meds are making you feel like this. i dont think that these meds should make you feel this way. i have not had any problems with such meds. they could be interfering with your current meds.

This has been a typical pattern for me as long as I can remember! I will ask him about it though , and see what all he has to say....and I will say, nope, I have not been drinking lol

You may also be extra sensitive to the effects of medications, because you do not usually take them. It hits you harder. Hope you feel better soon.

I've had my fill of side effects from medication, that is why I do not use prescription medication. For a year or better now I have gone all natural remedies. I have many health issues yet I feel better now than when I took heart medication and water pills. I can't say I felt as if I was drinking but I sure got sick. Thank You for your post.

I am feeling better then I did......so maybe its on the way out. Appreciate each and everyone of your posts. You are a wonderful poster!

I thought most of these medicines are labelled 'non drowsy' so the drunken affect wouldn't happen, or shouldn't happen, those are the medicines that I go for my friend, although having said that I much prefer to take home made remedies to cure the flu, but I am fortunate in that I do not succumb to the flu (touches wood just in case!) it may be because my immune system is strong due to the fact that I sweat the germs out of my system going to the gym as often as I do! Since going to the gym I have been far more healthier, both body and mind! Cheers ;0)

Wolfie, you have got it. Its the sweating it out , that really works. That is the best advice for us all. I think it stops all of it from building up in our systems and it removes so many of the toxins....Appreciate the response!

It has been so long since I have taken anything like that but I do recall those feelings from before. Also how some meds will cause you to have a sleepless or restless night or even worse have night mares.

Now , my friend, you are right! Two nights ago, I woke up, wide awake at 2 am....I starred at the ceiling for awhile, then got up and got a drink, then, I tried to go back to sleep, no nightmares but no luck....so there is a fact to what you are saying!

Hi eaforeman6! Yes, flu medicines can make you feel wacky sometimes..I guess, that is why there is a formula that is non drowsy or for day time flu medicines so the wackiness can be limited or avoided. lol Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith

Hi Faith, but when you need to sleep and rest, with the flu, the nightime meds are what seem to allow the better rest....but yes, non drowsey can be a help in avoiding that. I know this , it all makes me drink alot of water and feel very thirsty!
