Anyone Want My Cold?

I have been dealing with a miserable Cold now for just over 2 weeks. I have been to a Doctor 3 times now with it, and there are days that are better than others for sure. I usually feel the worst at night. But they say this will just have to run it's course, and so when I am not at work, and feeling tired, I try to come here to myLot to post. It does take my mind off of what is really going on out there in my life for sure. So have you ever had a cold that just will not leave? Does it seem to distract you, or are you busy finding things you can do to distract you? What do you do to help it, and would you consider coming in here in myLot to post just to help take your mind off of things as well? Personally I am glad there are distractions like this, and Glad I have many wonderful people in here I call friends I can interact with as well. So it is Good to have you all here, and Wishing you all the Best. ~~TINA~~

Get some vitamin C into you. I find those Beechams drinks work best for me, just make sure they are nice and hot. Hope you feel better soon.

Oh Tina right you are my dear friend, we all need each other here at myLot and more times than not this is where the best therapy is. I always suggest homemade chicken soup and this link even mentions that. Good luck. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/cold-remedies/ID00036

Hope you get feeling better soon. Are you taking any vitamin c, echinacea or even a tablespoon of honey with 1/4 teaspoon of cinnammon. Those are the things I would try taking to help with a cold.

No thank you, you can keep it but I do hope it clears up soon! My parents have been dealing with the same thing...for two weeks now and they're miserable. I'm sure you're doing all of the usual stuff...vitamin C...pushing fluids...and my favorite comfort food when I have a cold, homemade chicken soup. Get plenty of rest and feel free to whine. I've found that colds never get the respect they deserve. Feel better soon!

HI Tina! Sorry that you are still feeling so miserable. I think that I had a touch of the flu for the last week or so. I was really feeling kind of miserable myself. I felt kind of achy and tired and just all around lousy. I stayed in bed for a couple of days because I just wasn't up to doing anything. I am starting to feel better but I don't want to push my luck! I have no patience when I'm sick. I get cranky and I don't know what to do with myself. I wasn't even feeling well enough to sit at the computer. When I'm sick like that I don't really want to do anything but sleep. I hope you are feeling better soon!

I don't want it. They seem to hang on forever. I try to spend time here when I don't feel like doing anything else.

It has been a long time since I have had a cold like that, that just would not go away. About five years ago, or maybe six, I had one so bad that they could not clear the congestion up until they gave me steroids for it. Not anti biotics. I find a lot of temporary relief from a throat lozenge called "Fisherman's Friend". They are nasty, they taste of mint, licorice and black pepper, but I can breathe when I use them. I also do fresh pineapple, or horseradish, and lots and lots of salsa. I love being distracted by online groups.

I think we have the same cold! Mine started about 2 1/2 weeks ago. It was really bad at one point I was all achey and feverish. Then that went away and the cold part/cough and sore throat are still here! Mine gets worse at night too. I am so busy during the daytime that I really don't think too much about being sick. It is in the evening when I feel it. I just want to sleep so I don't have to deal with it. Distractions are always good when fighting a cold.

You are not alone Tina. This cold/flu that is making its rounds is pretty strong. My daughter has had it for almost 2 weeks and now is when she's starting to get a bit better, despite the fact that I've had her on anti-biotics for several days. Hopefully you can get a few days off from work to rest, slurp chicken soup and catch up on old movies. Hope you feel better soon.

It is bad that your cold lasts more than two weeks.I know how it will be uncomfortable at nights more.Eat healthy foods and see to it as warm.Drink boiled water.Take some honey as it will soothe your throat.Ask your doctor for a different antibiotic.Try to concentrate and keep yourself busy in other works.I will pray for you to get a quick relief.Cheers!

I hate being sick!!! I got a couple of whopper colds in early December that just knocked me out. Two of them, back to back. If you want to contaminate someone, pick someone who deserves it. Do you have an ex, or maybe a best friend's ex (or maybe one of my husband's exes!) you might want to contaminate? LOL That's the one nice thing about having a cold. You can make people who annoy you MISERABLE by getting them sick! ;)

That seems like a long time to have a cold. Is it allergy? I hope you get well soon. I used to have colds and a cough that was persistent for over a month. I went to another doctor because the doctor referred by my health card prescribed antibiotics that did not help. The second doctor found out that it was my asthma that was causing my cough and colds. So, I do hope you get well. Drink lots of fluids and take lots of rest. ^-^

No thanks Tina. I don't want a cold. I've only had one cold so far this winter season. It only lased 3 days because once I noticed the first symptom I started taking some Sufaded. But take or drink Vitamin C and eat some hot vegetable soup. My daughter has been sick enough this season for all of us. She was in the hospital four different times in 2008 for pneumonia. I hoe you feel better soon and take care of yourself.

Ah, Tina, if I could do it and give you a few hours of relief I really would. It couldn't come for a sleepover though, just for a few hours to play. Be well soon, KrauseHome.
