Take pictures all the way, or only at the best angle?

In travels, we target our camera at the chosen objects, which is characteristic of the place, showing charming natural scenery, featuring traditional architecture, representing local culture, etc. Would you wait until you are in the right distance, have the right angle, with the right sunshine, before final shooting, or just clicking and clicking until you are at the best position? I belong to the latter, so at the end of the day, I have a lot of photos surrounding the same target. It is easy to select the best, usually the last, but I am reluctant to delete the earlier poor ones. What is your habit in terms of photography?

I take pictures the same way I tackle life. Without rhyme or reason. If I'm busy or really interested in what's going on around me, I take very few (birthdays, Christmas, etc.). My sister hovers around with her camera waiting for the perfect expression on someone's face when they open a gift. I just snap a picture and could really care less if they have a present in hand, food on the way to an open mouth or are in the process of dislodging a stubborn booger from their left nostril. It's life and my pictures show life. I don't use the incriminating ones for anything other than memories amongst the people involved. Some of my best shots though come from times I'm bored. Vacation last month with the kids up in the mountains is a prime example. The little monsters needed to get out of the truck and run after a day of driving. So we turned them loose on a remote mountain location and let them climb to their heart's content. My husband accompanied the squad. I stayed below and admired rocks and plants and took pictures of the mountain and glimpses of them as they climbed. What I didn't realize I was taking pictures of (never saw it in real life) was a cougar stalking my family........ you can't beat that!

You are correct. Traveling is incomplete without the shooter, I mean your camera. Whenever I have traveled I have not forgotten to take my camera, battery charger besides taking some other unavoidable ones. If you travel far from your own place this hobby of photography does multiple functions. It not only helps you capture the beauty of the locality but also gives an access ti know the culture, custom and other things as well. As for me I do not wait for the right moment to arrive. If anything takes my fancy I would not mind taking picture of them a dozen of times. Because if you wait for the moment to arrive, what if something unwarranted came up and you are gone. So no chance taking.

I take pictures all the way at times. But most of the time, I do it at the best angles possible. I got a new camera last year and that was the time when I was so into photography and being creative when taking photos. Happy posting.

photography skill is mainly attributed by the angle and the location...taking photos at different angles will make ur photos more attractive...even a bad photo with a good angle will look good.....

For me I will take pictures all the way and afterward I will take the best caught pictures that I got. Waiting for the best angle is a waste of time. What if you are about to take a picture of a 1 month old baby? Do you have to guts to wait for the best angle to come up? Just my points of view.... God bless to all of us!!!

I usually take photos using this rule of thumb. (I shoot Digital) When I see something I want a photo of I take a quick shot and then walk around and try for a better angel or better Light then take another photo. My reason is that you never know what will happen and if you wait to take the best shot you may miss it.

tinker in snow - our dog loves when we use the snow shovel and throw snow at her
Take 50 and get that 1 perfect shot. I love taking action type shots, so this does apply to me. But, I always come out with some really great shots. I don't mind having to go through and edit out the not-so-great shots, hit delete and they are gone. lol If it is still shots, I might shoot 3-4, for example, sunsets or sunrises, nature, since it is constantly changing taking several shots, you'll be surprised at the difference when downloaded and looked at more closely. When traveling, I take a lot of shots all along the way, I know I won't capture that particular moment again and I also know I can edit out and delete in poor shots.

yes, i cant agree with u more. the dc is so conveninet to use. u can just take pics also the way, no matter the best or worst angle, and when u come back ,u can just delete the worse ones if u dont like. and i strongly suggest u that u dont have the need to delete the poor ones. i think if u are on a trip to a place of intrests, why not take so much photos? later, u open the files, u can memorize the situations that day, and the casual photos is so helpful for u. maybe in the photos ,they laugh out loud, and maybe some one plays a trick on the other. that's the beautiful memories.

It depends. With studio, I get the right angle, and take it then. Sometimes I take variations, but other wise, I don't take a gob. With scenery though, it's different. There is no such think as the right angle when it comes to scenery, and I take however many I can if I'm in the mood.
