Do you really take the pains to edit wikipedia if you have something to add to?

Hello people, We all love to search for information on the net and what better site than wikipedia to look into, isn't it? My question to all of you is that many times we come across a topic about which very less information is available on wikipedia, but we know something more about it. If we add that it would help other users a lot. In that situation, do you really care about adding that information, or are you lazy enough and just let the page pass through your eyes, as if it wasn't there?

I have never taken the time to edit wikipedia. I think if I did come across some information that I could improve on or add to, I would definitely do it. I have yet to find something that is not already there on wikipedia, but i will from now on. Thanks for the good discussion topic.

i am not using wikipedia when i am serching for school, the teachers knows it that its from wikipedia. .. i use ebscohost, most schools trust ebscohost.. although ebscohost needs a password, some sites like us librarys post the passowrd for the site, so that students can search more accurately.. i have'nt edited something in wikipedia, even though there are alot of errors... i got no time to that. we are discourage in school to use it, since the information can be easily be edited.. i just use wikipedia for reading purpose or when i want to search for something, that is not for school.

I sometimes edit pages if some information I know is correct is incorrect on the website but this is rare. I also tried adding pictures too and included what I thought was correct licences, but those were removed.

I've thought of that many many times! But I am not really sure what happens with the copyright! For example, many times I was looking for scientific info at wiki, but I couldn't find what I was looking for...I did think to add info from my books, it wouldn' t be a problem to me, but even if I use the source as reference, I am not sure if I am allowed to copy word by word the content of the book and expose it on wikipedia!

I did once, because I knew there was some incorrect information and I knew where the right information could be found. And I figured few people would either a) know the correct answer or b) bother to change it. I haven't done it again because I haven't encountered any articles that could be improved by my editing.

Till now I haven't added anything eventhough I might have known more.Defenitely it helps other users if we add something which we know.
