I don't know if this is just my problem on my computer but when I go to a profile and find the color background pink or purple with red writing I cannot see it well enough to see. I really love to find out basic informaiton about my friends before I approve them.

I think that is a common problem but nothing to do with the computer. Those contrasts you mention are very difficult to read and those users that choose their colour schemes may not realise how hard it is for others to cope with them.
There are also some that have a dark photo as the background with black as the font colour for the writing. There's not much thought there either

I think our eyes will be getting bad if there are too many of them who get into that habit

Hi pat! No, it's not your computer! It's the way it comes out
when they have that color background. And it is rather annoying
because you can't read it! I have seen it that way many times.
I don't now if they do it on purpose or not. It is like trying
to read disappearing ink! I thought it was me for awhile, but
I have seen it happen more than once so it must be when someone
uses those colors that it makes it hard to see against the
backgrounds.

I have seen many profile pages with this problem.
Too many members seem to design the page purely for appearance and forget to create a decent contrast between text and background to make it readable. This can be very difficult at times and tends to deter people since the effort of reading hardly seems worthwhile.
