Do you speak more than one languge? What do you do when you get confused on what language you are to speak at a particular time or if you mix the two languages together, are you embarassed or you just correct yourself and keep on with the conversation.

I use two languages daily. I'm English and live in Italy so I use Italian for everyday life but I also use English in one of my jobs. When I'm in the hotel reception I sometimes am talking in Italian to one of the guests when I receive a phone call and the person on the other end is talking in English. So I obviously carry on in English on the phone and sometimes when I have finished the call I forget to 'switch off' and go back to Italian again. When I see the guest is just staring at me blankly I realise my mistake So far it has never happened that I write in Italian here even though I have the television on while I'm here. Have fun, happy Lotting and ciao!

I live in Denmark and I speak Danish to my family and most of my friends. I have lived abroad a couple of times and when I return to my own country I often mix Danish and English together. Sometimes my my parents ask me a question in Danish and by mistake I answer in English. I don't get embarrassed when it happens, I just laugh about it. It also happended to me at a party once. There were only Danes there and I had been speaking Danish all night, but all of a sudden someone asked me a question, and out of the blue I answered in English. I don't know why it happens, but it is probably because I use both language quite a lot.

I speak English and French, english with my peers and French with my family. I don't often get confused with the two, but if theres a word that I just don't know how to translate in French, I mix up my convo with English words.
