Do you like the cold?

It's cold. Not freezing, or blustery, or oh my goodness why did I move to the north cold. It's just cold. For me that's almost the worse kind of cold. Freezing you can prepare for but cold sneaks in, a thief that drains your energy and warmth. You always think you are adjusted to it or prepared for it but you never are. What is worse is when different parts of your anatomy are at different temperatures. Then you are fiddling with sweaters, blankets, socks, slippers, robes, whatever you can just to get the right amount of coverage into the right locations. Now cold is not always bad. I like to sleep in a cooler temperature then when I am awake. Unfortunately, being warm and snuggled under my blankets and bedsheets knowing I'm about to face the nefarious cold air demon when I move makes it hard to wake up in the morning. Another thing I like about cold isn't so much cold as when I come up behind my love's back and with stealthy movements slide my ice cold fingers onto his warm back or stomach. I love the contrast of hot and cold as much as I love hearing his squeal and sigh. Cold in general does have its uses. Things like refrigeration and ice cubes and such but I'm not talking about that. Any person who hates the cold and walks into a freezer or refrigerator is just silly. I'm talking about natural weather or in my case, oil is too expensive to change the thermostat cold. Do you like the cold? What are your thoughts?

I REALLY WISH it was cold here in the Philippines. I haven't seen a snow yet and I want to move to Canada with my bf for some reasons and one is so I can see a snow. Honestly, if you're here.. you'd probably want to jump to any place that is cold.

Probably not. I'm the crazy girl who loves the heat, muggy or not. I don't like air conditioning and I take hot showers no matter the temperature outside. I spent a year in Puerto Rico (tropical climate by the equator) and was the happiest heat wise I've ever been.

That is reality. People who are living in a cold places most likely to have some vacation in the warmer places. While people who are living in the warm area wanted to experienced also the colder climate.

I like the cold at times. I don't like it when it is freezing. If it is cold but not freezing then I do like it. When it becomes really cold and you need three jackets, gloves, hats and hot chocolate to get warm then I don't like it. I know what you mean about different parts of your body at different temperatures. It has been nice weather for the last four days where I live. The only problem is that when I go outside my fingers get cold but the rest of my body is fine. I think it is suppose to get back cold again. I also like when it's cold because it snows. I don't like it when it is extremely cold but doesn't snow at all. We got a little bit of snow this year but not enough. I remember us getting a lot of snow in earlier years. I wish it would snow more now but it's not going too. Any person who hates the cold and walks into a freezer or refrigerator is just silly.

LOL I see you agree with me about the silly comment. And I agree with you about snow. For whatever reason, to me, it always seems to be warmer once the snow blankets the ground. We are flurrying right now in PA.

Yes, it is almost like we forget it is cold outside when it snows. Did that make any sense?

we are in canada and you can bet it gets cold here (it also gets pretty hot here in july too!) and at least its not as cold as it was before. earlier in the winter, we were getting windchills of -35 (celcius) and now it is a more palatible temperature and is hovering around 0! soon we will be complaining about how hot it is!

I'm moving to Canada at the end of March and everyone asks me why because I HATE the cold. All I can say is some people are worth a little sacrifice.

well, the good thing is that the weather does get warm for part of the year (and downright hot!) and most canadians are friendly and helpful if you get stuck in the snow or whatnot. what part of canada are you moving to?

I'm moving to Edmonton, Alberta. I'm a little leery about next winter. We get snow and ice and all that here but not to the extremes that they have there.

I really don't like the cold. I get cold very easily, and it's certainly not pleasant for me. I much prefer being in a warm climate. I don't like the extreme hot, but at least warm climates.

The thing I worry about with warm climates is that you adjust to them and then what you feel is cold raises in degrees.

That is a good point. It's true that the more you're in a warm climate, the colder the cold climates appear.

You are the opposite of Jimbo! He hibernates and you power up. I am solar powered so I feel weaker and more tired in the winter but as the sun comes out more and gets stronger so does my internal battery

Sometimes i like the cold. But if i had a job which needs to go in far away, i hate the cold. I like the cold if i stay at home and sleep for a long time.

I actually like the cold if i do not fall ill in that kind of weather. For one i get to eat some hot sipcy food and sleep under a blanket all cosy. I would not mind going out in the cold as well provided i'm well protected and kept warm.

Our cold in our country is unlike yours....but yup, I like the cold, very much, especially at night, with my warm blanket around me. Feels good, I usually have a good night's sleep. When it's warm, I don't feel comfortable. However, the freezing cold could also kill me, that's why perhaps, I would not survive in the frigid zone, or when there's snow. The bottomline: either too warm or too cold is a no, no.

For most people that is very true. You have to be aware of the heat or cold and be prepared for its affect on not just your body but the things around you. When I lived in the desert I enjoyed the 100+ Fahrenheit temperatures but I was also always prepared for it. Plenty of water, time in the shade, sunscreen. I just feel like I can't prepare for that cold without feeling like a giant marshmallow puff.

I like it cold... sometimes (lol). Actually, I love the snow! It is sooo beautiful & fun. I love to snow ski plus I just like being out in the snow. It makes me feel good. To watch it come down outside is just gorgeous. Of course, there are times when I really would prefer the warm weather. But, one thing I can't stand about where I live now is how humid it can get in the summertime! Oh gosh, I just hate humidity when it gets so high that you need another shower just because you walked from your air-conditioned house to your car, which is only about 100 feet away! YUCK! I can't stand that! I agree with you about sneaking up behind your loved one and touching their tummy or back with ice cold fingers! LoL! I don't know WHY I am so evil in that respect but I just get a total kick out of it. I think he realllyyyy hates it when I do that. :)

I'm not that keen on the cold, it's absolutely freezing right now and I don't have the heating on as crazy as this sounds! The electricity prices have shot through the roof and so I'm improvising as regards keeping warm. The warmest place for me right now is my bed where I cover myself completely and it's all snug and cozy! I think that this cold spell will soon be disappearing though. We are in February now and I guess the sun will start smiling a lot more shortly. Andrew

I don't mind the cold if it is in the 30's or above. If it is really cold like in the single or below digits, I really hate the cold! I also hate when it gets windy! Over the winter have been very cold days with high wind causing snow to blow over the roads making driving scary! We had alot of snow in December! I have to work outside some 6 days a week and my face and fingers get alot! I really hate that, too!

I really don't like cold. However, I do like cool. I just like nice cool weather. Not too hot, not too cold. Just a nice comfortable balance. I get too uncomfortable when it's too hot or too cold. I have to bundle up with multiple lairs of clothing and I hate being all big and bulky looking. Plus, if I have to walk long distances wearing multiple lairs of clothing I end up getting all hot and sweaty and then I feel really gross. Cool is where it is at.

I could deal with warm and a nice cool breeze but I definitely see where you are coming from. Unfortunately, I'm layered year round because I can't seem to get warm enough. I HATE layers though because when you finally do become warm you have to carry the stuff you take off.

I am in a warm country. When I was young, how I wish there would be snow in our area. Unfortunately there is never a snow here. But now that I am more mature, I have come to realize that I am lucky to be living here. No snow at all and not so much cold. Though just recently, its hotter now than it used to be. Probably because of global warming. Well, what is important is just to adjust.

I can assure you that I most definitely DO NOT like cold! While everyone else is running around in tee shirts, I'm huddled up in a blanket, or sitting by the fire shivering. Heat I can stand, but cold? Help!
