I'm trying to find some new books to read. I think I've exhuasted the literary word.

I actually read a book called "The Desert Was Home" by a woman named Elizabeth Campbell-Crozier. I work for a library and we were going to withdraw that book when I saw it. I decided to take it home, but I didn't get through the whole thing. The story was a good personal account of the early days of 29 Palms, CA, but the woman didn't write the story chronologically. Instead, she put them into chapter subjects. Sometimes it was hard for me to know where I was in time; whether something happened early in their settlement or later. But, if you like authentic stories about the old west (though this took place in the 1920s and 30s, it was still much like the old west out there), you might like it.
