There might be another stimulus bill

We were listening to the news about Obama passing this stimulus bill. Did not think that much about it as it will not affect us here in Canada (I hope not) except that maybe it will cost us more to buy things from the States. But then I heard that there might be another stimulus bill. So I was wondering is this necessary? Have they considered perhaps lowering taxes and so the population have more money to spend or to pay down their credit cards, the businesses can hire more people, or they can get stricter and not lend money to those who are unable to pay. Or is this a way to sneak in some laws that will make America more socialist because there are many there who do not care unless they get the money. So the question is would you be unwilling to take the money if the government were to turn more into Big Brother and gave rights to others while diminishing yours (and I can think of one right that might be taken away -right to protect home from home invaders using your gun.)or would it not matter.

There will be other stimulus plans. THey are already talking about it. We are digging the hole deeper and deeper instead of trying to fill it up. OUr economy is going to get worse. I am not in favor of them. I do not want them. But I am one person. Until the majority of hte people in this country stand up and scream NO to our elected officials it will continue. The news is saying that between the stimulus plan that just passed, the next round of bank and auto bail outs, and the homeowners bail out that Obama will spend more moeny in his first few months in office than Bush spent his whole two terms. How responsible is that? How is that going to help us? It isn't. Irresponsible spending is what got us into this mess in the first place. We can not spend out way out of it.

You are not alone! Most of us know that these plans make no sense and every so often you'll see poll results saying that 3 out of 4 Americans think the bills are a bad, bad idea. But you won't see them often because the media is behind these bills and want us all the think we're in the minority.

The bill did get accepted yesterday. There is not going to be another check from what I read, but there is gonna be a lot of tax cuts and funding going into health care and enegry. There is a lot more about the plan online. If you would like to read more about it I suggest going to www.recovery.gov. It is a new site and it has a lot about what is going on and so forth. Happy mylotting. :)

But would it not impact the future generations? That is what I am worried about. I watched 20/20 and it showed how many people are in trouble and houses being sold for $100 to $500 because the former owners could not pay, had lost their jobs, and this money from the stimulus is coming from the tax payer.

I'd rather they lowered taxes, but if they are going to send it to us AND take our rights away, even if we don't take it, I'll take it - maybe use it to pay down a credit card bill

This is news to me. Why on earth do we need two stimulus bills? Isn't one enough? But nothing surprises me with our new president.

In England it is the same stimulas seems to be the by line.Pump money in and it will be alright to a certain degree it makes sense ,more money for businesses to take on more workers or keep the ones they already have.As long as there are enough people in work to buy these goods.I am no financial whizz but don't they realise it will have to be paid back,we have borrowed so much in this country that it will take my sons generation to pay it all back,we were already up the hilt in debt before the recession how this lot will end I don't know, but what I do know is if I were to borrow money for a car, then new furniture and six months later a new washing machine with out paying the first lot back we would be in deep financial trouble and I can see no difference with the countries finances.

I think we need to stop giving the Stimulus packages, think about it, we give them 10 billion one week, and they want 20 billion the next! What makes you think that is going to fix it? A company should be self sustaining, if not, it deserves to die.

Where do they think the money is going to come from? The tooth fairy?

I haven't heard of that but I wouldn't be surprised if we got another stimulus bill. They are already compromising our rights and now they want to censor talk radio. That's a violation of the constitution! They won't lower taxes, they continue to suck us dry as much as possible. I love my country but I fear my government. I believe that by the end of his term, Mr. Obama will have the socialist country that so many people want just because they can get things for free--or so they think.
