Few days back i was writing on mylot, suddenly my system got stuck and i had to restart my system. i had written almost 500 word. but i lost all whatever i had written. Next time i tried to be smart Aleck and i typed my response on notepad and save it first then i logged in to mylot then i tried to paste that stuff, : - D thats was astonishing for me, i was not able to paste till i post 500 response. i felt like crying that time that i would have to type all over again. i typed same thing three times. Somehow i think its good to stop spamming but some time it gets awful.
have you happened to bear this kinda situation? Do you have this kinda experience?

It can be annoying but we have to accept it. It has been like that, as far as I know, from the beginning. It helps to stop spammers and cheats.
Just work round it as the other response suggests then once you get to 500 you will be rewarded with the privilege too.
Oh by the way, once you get there you're so used to not having it that you very rarely use it!

yeah i was really very irritating for me. i could be beneficial for mylot but i dont think so that so is it for us. : - D you are write i was think the same way once i got reached there i would be not used this .

typing two times will take more time, but in same time i can post some other response as well, i dont think that typing notepad and then as response at mylot will make the difference, because the problem is still there, if my system get stuck then again i will have to type that again.

Well, yeah in some manner, you are right you think this is right to do, but for me its just useless, if i have to type again then why should i save it, may be i could more better next time.

It is really very bad to know that you typed same thing three times.
Of course in future you will not repeat it,I hope.
Take this as a motivating force to reach your 500th post soon.So that you can enjoy that privilege of copy and paste feature.
I have also tried once to copy and paste,and that time only came to know about
that 500th post milestone
You can reach soon that 500tp post,if you are active in mylot.

Luckily once you reach 500 posts on this site you can copy and paste. If you keep at it, you should reach that 500 post mark in no time! Hopefully your internet won't crash too often before then and you won't lose all of your posts! That can really be annoying!

You can still copy and paste a few words at a time. I am not sure what the limit is, it is not huge, it may take two or three copy pastes per line but might be faster than recomposing again.

I had still bitter experience like you, i open the discussions in two or three windows and start typing one after another. Oneday, i hd type'd the content in all the windows (its around four windows i think) but have not posted it (thinking to add some more information lik link's from other sites), unfortunately power went off. It irritated me lik anything and i was in a situation that i cant do anything.
Even i cant post my query to the admin regarding this..

I am sure you are not the only one here, and I even have to redo the article all because the "post response" at the end of the day came to naught and when you hit the "refresh" button, it brought me back to that empty post box.
Believe me, I had even requested for exceptions to be made like allowing pasting of reference website link addresses which can be a feat but...
I suppose rules will be rules and until you have arrived and hit the needed quota to enjoy this copy and paste facility, you will just have to keep posting. Just don't loose heart and keep posting and responding.

It happens all the time - and it's really annoying.
I'm struggeling to reach the 500 posts - and it sure takes time, since I want to do good responses (even if my ratings doesn't show that!!!)
You have a long way to go, but being acticve responding to others discussions will not only give you posts, that will also show people here that you write well and interesting and will make it better for you later when you start more discussions.
I would say that there is some spamming at the moment to, with all one-liner discussions!

Dont worry, I have same experience. This happen when I was join my lot for one week. I was woke up at 3.00 am. And I wrote for mylot half hour. Then something bad happen. This internet connection was slowly then I can't post my respond. When I try to refresh all I typed was missed. Since that time I was carefull when will respond discussion. I have to make sure that internet connection is fast. Happy lotting.

I know, and it can take a while to reach 500 posts aswell.
I know it's happened to me when I've had about 100 posts, and I got angry to, as I didn't understand why it didn't let me copy and paste and then realised I needed atleast 500 posts.
500 posts seemed very hard at the time, but it's actually not all that hard. I'm nearly upto my 1000th post. I'm hoping to reach it today. :)

This happened to me too at mylot but at the comment section where am so eager posting christmas graphics and comments but same quite disappointed can't have it copy and paste. Now however am so happy reaching 500 posts, I was able to use the copy and paste feature last Valentines. I enjoyed sending Valentine greetings to my friends here, only that late I realized it can be used already that I ran out of time, unable to send everyone I wished to. Reading your post, however reminded me of sending comments again to my friends, thanks. Don't worry, you can make use of the copy and paste feature as soon as you reach the 500 posts.

Yes I did. I have written almost 500 words or so, and then the system got busted. The good thing was I was able to highlight and I copied everything. But when I tried to paste it, it didn't work out. So I ended up typing the words all over again.. Such a waste of time. But this is a good thing though, it prevents us from copying from other sources.
