When are you no longer a "Newbie"?

I have just read and responded to another post regarding the "Newbies". Whilst typing my response I began to think, when do we stop being a newbie?? Is it when you've got so many numbers by your name, a star or length of time on here?? I'm into my 3rd week and loving it x Please let me know when you think a "Newbie" is no longer a "Newbie"

That is an interesting deep-thinking question. ._. I guess it depends on the person that is calling you a "newbie". : ) I think it shows whether you're a "newbie" or not depnding on your attitute. I don't think a "newbie" or a "pro" is based off your number of posts or your star rating. What I consider "newbies" are people that don't care about what they're doing.

I like to think I'm putting the effort in to my posts aswell as enjoying the community. I don't feel like a Newbie so maybe I'm not anymore x MrsL x

I would say if you reached the 500 comments mark because that is when you get the privilege to copy paste!

Good question! I still feel I am a newbie when I have users with loads more posts than me on my discussion or I see them on other discussions. I have been here almost two years but they still have that effect on me. I think you start to stop feeling you are a newbie when you really feel part of the Lot. You begin to feel you 'know' a lot of users and you feel at home here. Do you still feel like a newbie and when do you think you might not be one anymore?

In terms of length of time I've been a member etc, Yes I still feel like a "Newbie" however I felt right at home more a less straight away. Partly because the majority of people on here are friendly and interested in what your saying x So I kind of do & don't feel new!!! Thanks for the response x :-)

hi! usually in other forums, you are no longer a newbie when you are able to post a certain number. Maybe here in mylot, it is up to you if you are a newbie or not. If at 50 posts you feel you are no longer a newbie and know more members here it is ok. Maybe you at 100 you are no longer a newbie because you can see a star already beside your name. maybe it is really upto the person. happy mylotting

sometimes, being an "oldie" is also good, as you can assist a newbie in the site. and it feels good to help other members. take care

LMAO!!! You sound like you hate new users!!! It is difficult to take in everything when you first join and it's easier to ask then read. Remember, you were new once so give everyone else a break x ;-)

Once you post 1500 responses and have been a member for over a year, you are no longer a newbie. JUST KIDDING! I don't know, I guess once you have learned all the rules and grasp the concept and have made a significant number of posts, like 50 or 100, such as you already have. I guess it all depends on how many questions you still have whether or not you feel like you're still a newbie. If you have not read the FAQs yet I encourage all new members to do that, because it only takes a few minutes and it's VERY helpful!

ROFL!!!! I don't feel like a newbie & didn't feel like 1 for very long!!! :-) The only thing that I can't get to grips with is editing my profile, I always seem to get something wrong and things don't work!!! I'm sure I'll figure it out sooner or later :-) Thanx MrsL x
