Here I am, relaxing after a hard day work online, working in mylot and other sites. Suddenly Your browser can not find any sites online. Try to disconnect computer, and connect again, it did not work. So there must be something with my broadband. I had to disconnect the elextricity for a few seconds and connect again. Now it work fine again. Can anyone tell me why does this happen? I need to understand the problem and how to solve it. As I did, but what did really happen? thanks for Your help.

Reading from all the posts I gather it's the router that's giving you the slight hiccups. You can always reset it by just switching it off & on again. Plus you were using the net alone before, now you have 2 users so the line is equally shared. The more users the slower the line can become but 2 users shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I have broadband, so my internetconnection is on all the time when I am logged in. And Yes, I know he is downloading movies that he watch on the computer. He do not have the stuff to download it on a dvd. I would not allow that. And in April, it will no longer be allowed to use downloads for free. And to pay for any stuff like that, never, I would never do. I rather go to store when and if I have enough money to by other stuff than clothing, food. Enjoyble things is for birthdays, christmas only.

I have got that to. I turn my computer of, when I am not oline, however my son keeps his online 24/7. I do not like that, and I have told him to turn it off from time to time. But you know, 17 year old boys knows better than their mothers.

HahaFrom what you say, I gather your line is a monthly unlimited access one? That's why your son's computer is on all the time downloading stuff? Haha

I used to teach computers but I dont any more because I work in a day care but I still have the knowledge of the things I used to do. Hears what I think first off we don't have a wireless connection hear. So I had to go to the main source of wear all the connections in the building were. Dissconnect the Internet in the whole building. wait a few seconds and plug each one back in. Every thing was good to go again. But The router was very hot and warm. what I think is they get to hot or warm and thats what the problem is because after you unplug and wait and put wires back in it seems to cool down and its good to go. Yes It would happen every so offen. They suggested putting a fan in that area but we never did it.

I have broadband, it is fast and the problem is rather rare. But I bought a router so my son and I could use the same connection online. I have realized it must be this router causing the problem. When it happen, I just put out the electricity and put it in again, it worked fine after I did so. But to me, sometimes it is an unnesssery thing to do in my mind. But have no other option. I like things working smothing, without any interuptions. I just have to adjust, it does not happen everyday.

I have not had any problems since two days ago. But I had to install the family safty system again. It do not matter, as long as it works, and it do not happen to often, put out the electricity is only god from time to time. I might save some cents on it since the electricity are on all the time.

I think no matter what ISP you have we all unfortunately experience this one from time to time. I know I have had it happen over the yrs. many times. Sometimes it helps just to reset my Computer, but there are times like you I have had to reset my Modem, etc. as well. What I will usually do if it keeps up for any amount of time is call my ISP and make a complaint and see if there is something they can do from their end as well.

I reset the electricity and turn the computer on, and the problem is solved. And I am glad it does not happen every day. Now or then, perhaps one time a month. Anyways, today it works fine.Hope it stay that way.

Some time the problem exists with my system it suddenly gets hang when i am working i don't know why it happens instead of taking all the required parameters. Some times we can not understand the behavior of our electronics.

Sorry to hear that this happens to you too. I myself get frustrated by what is happening to our own connection. It really starts to bug us at night time. And we always do complain and call their customer support to report the problem. It has been 20 days since we have this problem. Three people can here to fix it, but every time they come here, there was no problem in our connection. By night time, there goes the same issue and problem again. We are so tired of calling their customer support. My hubby use to do a lot to fix it here too but it seems there was an issue of system failure on the Service provider itself that they don't talk to their customers. i told my hubby to get another line or connection for us to solve the problem. I don't know for how long can we wait since we will be out of town for this week, sad to say i won't be able to log in myLot.

I get it, I feel the same way. I need to be able to connect every day. Got so many things to do in there. However, I do not have any system errors, it is obvius that the new router I bought, cause the problem. So I use the electricity button and fix the problem with reconnecting. It works so far, but It is anoying. Lucky it do not happen every day.

since my scills about whats happen behind connection between computer and broadband is very rare I have no other options.

You are working in a very complex set of systems from your computer, the router, the equipment at the exchange and the server used by your broadband supplier. There can be all sorts of temporary hiccups and all sorts of hardware and software minor faults that will upset your connection. If it is a persistant fault all you can do it to get your equipment checked and if that is okay complain to your broadband supplier

Well, If I do that, I guess, they only say, buy the router from us. I do not have any problem other than I need to reconnect the electricity and everything work fine again. It is just anoying when You are doing something and things get disturbed. thanks for the reply, I start to get the picture about what causes the issue.

I have this trouble a lot at my boyfriend's. He has a wireless router. He's replaced his wireless router a few times, and it still has the same problem! Every so often he has to reset the router, then the internet works fine. But it can be pretty annoying and frustrating.

Yes it shoure is. I sometimes pay my bills still this have not happen yet during those tasks online. However I get a bit angry, it put me offline and I have to start over again. Any way, I am glad it is something I can do on my own, and no need for some assistance from outside. I thought it could be the router causing this problem. I was not to shore. Thanks for responding.

I have used broadband for many years, never had the problems before. But got my self a router to be able to connect two computers. We are two people in my houshold, me and my son. I stay online as much as he does, so we needed a computer both of us. He got my old one, and I bought myself a new one, along with a router to be able to connect internet to both computers. I have understood it is the router that cause the problem. To solve it, I use the easy electricity button, and it is solved.

I am with u as far as problem is concerned but have no clue as to why this happens.the broadband connection at times does not work, at times it is painfully slow and at other times it simply hangs up for a while. All irritating stuf but appears to be hazards of the game which we play.so bear with it.Or wait some myLottean to fix it.Good luck.

My broadband have always worked fine. But for a couple of months ago I bought me a new computer, and my son could have my old one. I also bought a router so we could share the same broadband. The problem I have had is caused by the router I have just learned. I thought it could be that one, since it have not been any issues for me before. ThankĀ“s for responding.

I used to have similar problems when I lived at my parents' house. Are you perhaps behind a wireless router? If you are, it could be that you need to update and get a newer router. When I did this at my parents' house, it solved the problem.

Yes, I have a router, and it is a new one. I bought it together with my new computer not long ago. My son and I share the same broadband. I did not have this problem before I got it. Thougt it could be the router. Thanks for the tip. I was right.
