Just LOOK at the size of the fish in the discussion avvy photo Isn't he huge? And he's the avvy of a whole category devoted to our own Mr. Fish. So tell me ladies, do you think the real 'pike' could measure up in sheer size and wonderment? ROFL Thanks to a special green eyed lady here on the lot, we now have a category devoted to a special fish. Please add your stories Mr. Fish. Your wit and humor and sheer Britishness will always be a joy to see. Everyone else, add yours discussion about fish here too......... Now to make this a discussion instead of an introduction, when was the last time you went fishing and could prove your 'fish' story with a pic like the one here? And if you don't fish, make a story up! LOL

Oh noooooo... you mean somebody actually CAUGHT him? Our Pike? What we gonna do now... there's so many of us will miss him? You know... I only ever went fishing once, and that was in a place called Seaford. I fished all night to no avail, then suddenly... in the early light, I felt a weight on the end of my line! I reeled it in carefully, and luckily there didn't seem to be much of a struggle going on the other end. Gingerly, I continued to wind... it's kinda eerie at first light when you don't know what's going to come out of the murky depths on your line! The imagination takes hold... can't be Jaws... he would fight harder, so what was this fish that was so placid, wanting to be caught. About a minute had passed, when finally, my catch emerged from the water! Huh? I had caught a rod, with a load of little whitebait on it! Ha ha ha. It wasn't a bad rod though and the reel was decent. Either somebody had slung it in the water in their disgust at not catching anything, or Jaws had escaped after tugging him in there! lol. Anyway, I went home with an extra fishing rod and reel, so I was happy! I had to have ham for dinner though! Brightest Blessings, my friend.

Well, I don't have any pictures, but I'm honest and I had lots of people around when I was fishing. We used to go up to the Dam and camp out a week or two at a time with family and friends. One morning I was down on the rocks in the water fishing by myself. My son came down the rock bank to see how I was doing. I had brought in about 5 or 6 BIG Drum, the biggest about 13 lbs. Then something really hard got my line the next time. I fought and fought and all of a sudden, this big GAR came across the rock where I was standing. I almost lost my rod and reel! That was the end of my fishing that morning! I was on a roll, not that I was getting anything good to eat. But it was fun!

I remember hooking my first salmon. What a bruiser! LOL I was fishing off the railing of a bridge over a stream. Didn't think I'd get anything, and how was I to know it was spawning season and the salmon were moving upstream? LOL I nearly ended up going a*s over tea kettle over the railing, but I held on and bagged me a good one. I don't know how much it weighed but it served me and my boys dinner two nights in a row! LOL

When I was a kid neither one of my brothers would touch the bait. They always made ME bait their hooks with the worms. Last summer my hubs bought some bait and the worms were lime green in color! No kidding. And yep, I had to bait his hook! ROFL

At the dam, my daughter and I would go down to the lower part and sit on a big concrete place with out feet dangling over the water. We'd sit hours on end, fishing for Brim. But the funny part was this: neither of us would touch the crickets with our hands, so we got us a small pair of plyers, picked up the cricket with that and proceeded to put the hook in the cricket! Well, it got the job done and we caught many Brim! We ate good at the Dam!

I agree. Fish cooked over an open fire are the best. I'm not a fish eating fan, but give me nature and a fire and I'll chow down with the best of them! LOL

I use to fish with my grandfather, uncle, cousin and brother in the inlet when I was a kid, but all we caught were little fish - we ate them anyway, well, the eating ones anyway. No, I have no pix, but they were really small anyway.

Enough small fish are just as good as one big one Elic. It's the experience of catching something that counts.

Sure, I have lots of pictures of fish that I have caught. But they all have ME in them, too, which proves it was me that caught them. But because of troll activity I refuse to post anything here that has ME in it. The biggest Pike I have ever caught was 10.1 lbs. The biggest Pikerel I have ever caught was 7 lbs. The biggest Bass I have ever caught was 6 lbs. I don't have to lie, cause I have PROOF! Plus, I can pretty much just go out and catch some more anyway. Georgian Bay is full of em, IF you know where to go. Thanks so much to her for adding this interest. Now that a discussion was started in it it makes it so much easier to find so I can add it.

I used to go fishing all the time with my dad when I was a kid. I liked fishing. But it was always better to eat the fish. I really like rainbow trout. I don't have any pictures to show. I used to take the children fishing when they were small. I have not been fishing in years. The biggest fish I ever caught was a 32 inch catfish. We were at Lake Powell which is on the border between Arizona and Utah. I had fun trying to get that fish in and it tasted wonderful.

We used to catch cat fish off the end of our dock at the cottage. But they looked so much like overgrown black mollies that we had to throw them back. I didn't eat Catfish until I went to Louisiana. LOL

I don't fish, Hubby won't let me go with him anymore. I went twice, and one time, I caught something that wasn't much bigger than the bait I used. Hubby caught nothing. The second time, we were deep sea fishing, and I caught more than he did, and to add insult to injury, the ones I caught were bigger than the ones he brought in. *L* Don't have any proof of it, he wouldn't let the guy on the dock take pictures.*LOL* I did catch a pretty cool pike, a few months back, though. He's a real sweetheart.

Last time we went fishing it was so good that we stayed on the lake even when the forest was burning all around us. We stayed all night and the fire lite up the sky so it was just like day. in the morning we were able to get off the lake but had to spend another day bailing the ashes out of the boat. We were so dirty that when we got home Mom made us take off our cloths before she let us in the house. She really did lock us out and here we were bringing home smoked fist. Only some of the proceeding is true, do you know which?
