will you still worry about your weight and outlook? My friend's grandmother always worry about she is being fat and wants to lose weight so she purchases all the diet drinks and food and whatever and hoping she can lose weight by having only "light" food. If I were that old, I would just go for whatever I want. Let's think aboout it,how many years do you think you can live more? maybe 5 more years, 10 more years? So why bother quit that or eat less

Oh dear If you still look after your body when you are 'that old' (??? ) there is a very good chance you will have 20 to 25 more years ahead of you! Many people are still active just because they did look after themselves. Do you really think that at a certain age it is time to 'switch off' and not do anything just because you are 'that old'? I certainly don't and I don't know any of my friends who do. My mother was 90 last year and she is still saving for her 'old age'!

I just meant they were being too conscious.

I think that many younger people are 'too conscious' as well. Age has possibly very little to do with it.

I don't even worry about my outlook at this age... I wouldn't worry about it later either. That is sad that people do. I would worry about my weight if I were too over or under but that as a health thing, not appearance wise.

These days, older women still want to look good, feel good, and keep our weight within a healthy range. I have many friends in their 70's, and they still watch their weight, their cholesterol, and dress attractively. Nobody would probably guess that they are that old. Women of today take better care of themselves than they did in my grandmother's era, and are far more healthy for it. When I get to 70 (in just shy of 10 years) I doubt very much that I will just sit down and give up on myself. (Well, maybe if I still didn't have my mind) I still know many women (as well as men) who are just as active in their 70's & 80's as they were in their younger years...and that health & vigor did not come from not caring about their weight and all. My 96 year old cousin was still playing a full round of golf (18 holes with no golf cart)until she hit 95. She still kept her figure, as well as her health and mind. Old is mostly a state of mind, and not necessarily only a biological state.
