I have a few "old fashion" picture albums but they are not really full since i have gotten a computer most my pictures go on disk or floppies or I store them on my computer. What do you do since now we have what we can call Disk albums which all we have to so if slip into a computer or CD player and view them. I much prefer the disk and floppies they take up less space and you can copy them easier so everyone can have a copy at less then it would cost to buy all of the pictures. So what do you do? I know it is hard to carry a disk around and say hey here in this disk is my sister or grand baby. But again technology raced to the forefront and digital frames were made. Do you have one? I want one but that is maybe a gift for Christmas next year.

Yeah mtdewgurl, I still have many old fashion picture albums sitting. Some are sitting on my book shelf whereas the other putting on the table top beside the sofa at my sitting room. They look very nice and attractive in their different designed appearances. You know during those earlier days we could process photos from films only. For the sake of convenient to keep and to look at the photos we have taken we then keep them in the photo albums. I keep my personal daily life photos of my childhood, teens, my family and etc in different photo albums. Of course there is a couple of them keeping all the pictures captured during my wedding ceremony and honeymoon There are lots of pictures of the daily life of my kid as well in some to the albums. After having digital camera I save all the photos taken in the photo gallery of my pc. Besides saving them in VCD and thumbdrives I still insist to keep some precious ones in my old fashion albums for the sake of safety. And it’s convenient and easy to share with relatives and friends when they visit us. We could enjoy watching the old fashion albums and chatting as well as eating snacks at the same time. Happy posting and have a great day.

Thanks for your response lkbooi,I still remember going to my grandmas going through her photo albums asking who was this and that and we had many happy hours and good laughs looking at those photos. Sadly I don't have any pictures of my wedding,No honeymoon and no pictures of me and my husband. We didn't own a camera till a few years ago and I haven't taken many of us since. I do take them of the kids in the family and others. I am rarely in a picture and I mean rarely because I am the one usually taking them.

Yes, I do still have some old photo albums and go to the store to have my pictures printed. I like to design my photo albums into a scrapbook on times I feel bored. I think I am still a pretty old fashion person.

I am getting ready to make my niece a photo album for her pictures of her new baby she had a week ago.. I think they are still good for photos that are developed for those who still do that sort of thing. I just find it simpler for me to have all those pictures on a disc. Or a site where I can reach them readily.

I wanted a digital frame so I can do something about all these pictures of my friends and my new baby but instead I just let them scroll my computer screen as my screensaver..there is an actual photo album here that my mother put all the pictures in..I just put that in the closet because it is really no use to me..I prefer my sidekick and my computer to store my pictures..its saves so much space..

Yep, it does,my photo albums are put up in a box also and put away. I would be lost without my handy dandy computer and disk to store everything on.Thanks for the response I appreciate it. Just think of how much paper is saved by not having to have pictures developed or printed off so we can stuff them onto albums to basically never be seen but a few times of year or less. So maybe computers and digital is the New "green" way to go for photos...saves trees also...

I store my digital pics on snapfish. That way I know they are safe and I can share them with others as well. Can choose which pics I want to print, which I usually make a collage prints that you can do on the site and print them that way. I also keep them on a thumb drive and save some of my pics to that as well. It holds a lot more pics than a cd or a floppy and much easier to carry around.

I still use photbooks and nothing on disk. I use the photobooks because for me it is easier to sit down with someone and go through the pictures and explain them to someone. I like the photo alubum because i can organize my pictures, i have an album of just cruise pictures and i have an album of just me and my boyfriend when he go on trips ourself or just us around town. If pictures are on a disc i feel that people wont be able to get the pictures they want if they do want to get some. I believe a disc you can give to someone and they will see the pictures on there computer of course, but there like well what the heck is this and you might not be right there with them to explain it to them. They could watch the pictures at there own time and with ou not around and i dont really like it that way. Photalbums might be the old way of sowing pictures but its my way and i like that.

When someone wants a photo, I just have them choose the one they want and either print it off or have the disk taken to a photo shop and have them print of the digital photos that is wanted. I like being able to view them on the television cause I can zoom them bigger if needed and they are great at get together so not just a few are hogging the albums that all can view the television easier then the book albums. I still use my photo albums to stow photos in that others give me or a few that I print off. Thanks for the response to my discussion. Have a good day.

I still give photo albums but I can't remember the last time I put any pictures in one myself. I hardly ever print copies of digital photos unless it is for something like a display of my students at work. Those photos are usually mounted to boards but I am thinking of making up a large book of photos at the end of the school year for our end of term program where the kids show off stuff they have learned in their enrichment classes.

Hey that is great! I bet she would totally enjoy that alot. It would make a great Easter gift. My mom found old 110 film from over 20 years ago and she had it developed but the images were so fuzzy and some didn't even turn out but is was fun taking a trip down memory lane with the ones we could see even if they were fuzzy.

I just found some negatives of photos I took of my mother-in-law and her cousin several years ago with my 35mm. I can't wait to enlarge them and mail them to her because she lost all her stuff in Katrina.

Okay, thanks for the response I appreciate it alot. Albums are great but sometimes bulky and when moving things can get messed up and lost or ruined..so sometimes it is good to have those pictures online or on your computer to be able to replace them and put them in a disk.

Now with digital cameras and scanners most of the people use to have the picture albums and photos in the computer. I too have most of the pictures in my computer and in the DVD disks. I do have old picture albums with me. Sometimes I do take the pictures into print from the studio of the pictures that I like very much and put it in my photo album.

Thanks for responding to my discussion, appreciate it. Well alot of my family and some friends are spread far and wide and I rely on my computer to help me send them the pictures of family and friends that are closer. So it is a big help. I am going to be setting up a online album soon so that family will have it easier to look at them all in one place. I miss the Yahoo!Photos that let us do that.

off road - memorial day weekend '08 off road club was at the same camp ground we stayed at
I have a couple of picture albums, but I mostly have my pictures either saved on my computer or on flash drives. However, I am still able to share photos with anyone that wants to see them, I scrapbook most pictures from family get togethers, camping trips, other trips, and everyday life. I have completed 8 12x12 scrapbooks and 6 8x8 scrapbooks. I love keeping photos by scrapbooking because I can also had souvineers, tickets, and other embellishments.

I do! I love keeping pictures on my hard drive, but I also like being able to actually print out the photos. I usually pick out 2-5 of the best from an event and then have those printed out and labeled properly on an album. I use Photoshop to make some nicer effects and lighting. Plus, I can add borders and designs to further enhance the theme of the event or party. it's really nice, and great for showing off too!

Nope. I don't use photo albums anymore.. i just store all of my pictures on the computer and back it up using my USB stick.. Backing up all important files is a must because our computers/laptops might crash anytime.. i'd also like to purchase a nice digital frame for myself but i don't have the budget yet..=)

I have a few old fashioned picture albums. They are very dear to me. You raised a very good topic. Believe it or not, I like the old fashioned Kodak instant camaras best of all. I miss not being able to look at my pictures right there on the spot. Everyone says that digital is so much better but I love being able to sit down with my friends or family member right there beside me as we talk about who is who in my photo albums......I have a digital frame but I would love to ask you to save ur money b/c they are not the same as being able to flip a page in ur photo book yourself. While I still believe that technology has it's place.....I believe the old saying holds true, there ain't nothing like the real thing. In this case being old fashioned photo albums...... I love that we can put our pics online but still love my old photo albums and will treasure them until I can't treasure them anymore!

I have thought of making a video collage of the kids in the family and how they have grown the different stages in their lives. I think it would make neat birthday invites also...Thanks for the response. As soon as I learn to make the videos..I just tossed my old Polaroid camera away since it was like 25 years or so old.. I hasn't been used for the last 20 years. My mom gave it to me about 12 years ago but we never bought film for it since she didn't know if it still worked or not. Thanks for the response.

Another thought is that you could put ur pics on video and the whole family could gather around and look at them.... This would probably be my second choice if I could no longer have my photo albums! Good luck!

gee that is a great question, I don't know, I don't do any kind of pictures, but come to think about it, my grandson's mother still takes pictures with a camera, and has an albumn, she just got a computer but many of the people she knows still doesn't have one.

Hi Winterose, thanks for stopping by I appreciate it. Sometimes it is hard to forget that not everyone has a computer. People give us photos and we do put them in a album but the ones I take I just copy it on a disk or floppy because it is cheaper for me since I can't afford alot of developing of the pictures.

My mom loves to take photos of us and edit them with fun house photos shops where she can take our heads and put them on other bodies and make them to be nice or silly. But sometimes I had found that since I didn't have the same software I was unable to view some of the pictures she redid. So yeah albums will never go out of style but might not be first choice as much now days. Thanks for the response I hope you have a very nice day. Love your avatar..a gift from Bo..? I love Novas as well and the others I have seen..

Your online so your up with the times..lol it is just by personal choice. I like decorating album cover for the albums and I am in the process of making one for my niece so I am hoping she will cherish and put her memories. I just also to want her to do back up with the pictures. I did mine I took my scanner and scanned every picture full size so that if something ever happened I would have the scanned ones on file on a disk.

I am hoping to get a few USB memory sticks so I can carry my photos around easier then a disk and will be able view them faster. When I had my album out the kids basically was looking at them everyday several times a day like they couldn't get enough. I had to start gluing the photos in because they were always taking them out and messing with them and the the page stopped being sticky and holding the photos. They wouldn't do it while I was in the room cause they knew better. Thanks for the response.
