Do You Like Real Mayo or Miracle Whip?

Do you like real mayonnaise or miracle whip on your sandwich? Personally I've come to prefer real mayo. I especially like it on a BLT. Miracle whip just tastes too sweet to me anymore. When it comes to making pasta salads though, I prefer the miracle whip. I think it adds a "kick" to it that real mayo just doesn't have. What's your preference?

They also call it salad dressing. It's just a sweeter sandwich spread. The pasta with tuna and sweet corn sounds good. I never really thought about using sweet corn with tuna. Sounds good!

Hi there Amber4106, I prefer hellmans mayo to it all. I have tried store brands and miracle whip and I just do not like it. I may not have a lot of money but when it comes to hellmans I just cannot do without. To me it is truely the best and I will not use any other mayo at all. I could see using an off brand for pasta salad but to me it still changes the taste to me. Happy mylotting and have a great day online

You wouldn't think that there could be a difference, I mean mayonnaise is mayonnaise right? Wrong....I have to have Hellman's also. I've bought Kraft before (two bottles because they were on sale)...the other one is still in the cupboard after seven months.

I grew up eating Miracle Whip salad dressing. I think my mom thought it had less calories than mayonnaise. Now I prefer mayo. I usually buy the "light" variety.

HI Amber! I used to only use Miracle Whip. or the Walmart version of it (to save money), but I'm pretty much back to mayo these dyas for the same reason as you. I think the taste of Miracle Whip is really strong and a little sweet, so I go for the plain mayo these days!

My mother always bought Miracle Whip when we were kids . I rather use Real Mayo though. Here in Mexico alot of the Mayo has lime in it . I have picked it up by mistake once and didn't like it , so I have to be careful about what one I'm buying, with or without lime .

I like taking a poached egg and slap it on some toast with real mayo, add some lettuce and tomato, and I'm in heaven. Mmmmmmm......

I like both. Sometimes miracle whip is really great on some sandwiches. However, I don't like Miracle whip much on sandwiches that have salami on them. I think regular mayo tastes better on those sandwiches. Also, miracle whip tastes better on sandwiches that contain regular lunch meat and tomatoes.

I am pretty certain I have had both but not miracle whip so much as to tell a difference or get myself accustomed to the taste. I've been used to just mayonnaise for the longest time.

Hi amber! I only use Hellman's Mayonnaise! I don't usually go for brand names on items except when it comes to mayonnaise and ketchup! I don't like Miracle Whip at all or any other type of Mayonnaise! There just is something about Hellman's that I like and I can't substitute it for any other kind! And I only use a tiny drop of it too!

I prefer Miracle Whip, but will also eat regular old mayo too. It really just depends on what I am eating and where I am at. if I go to a restaruant to eat, I am not so picky as to tell them that I want only Miracle Whip on my BLT.

I grew up eating miracle whip so I guess thats what I am used to. Once many years ago, I bought mayonnaise thinking it would be the same. NOT!!! It was so tangy that I couldnt stand it. I do notice now they are making tangy miracle whip and I dont like that either. Maybe I should revisit mayo and see what I think now. Afterall, I dont think miracle whip tastes the same anymore either!..Maybe my taste buds are getting old??
