I love looking down on a city from the window of an aeroplane especially when it is all lit up at night. My fave has got to be London, it looks absolutely amazing! Have you got a favourite city due to it's beauty from above?

Is it due to a fear of flying that you have never flown? Or have you never had good enough reason to fly?

I love to do this also. I think San Fransisco is an amazing city for not only its scenic attributes. The bridge is so beautiful in the evening with all the lights. And in Canada a grand city for scenic lovliness is Victoria, British Columbia Canada. Small but lovely and very ornate. Their regal castle there is lit up at night and is just breath taking.

Both sound lovely. Regal castle sounds fab, I like old historic buildings as it is, so I can imagine it looks amazing lit up, from above

My favorite city I began looking when I saw it from the air. It is Sydney. I saw the white sails of the opera house and the gray harbor bridge. The harbor looked so beautiful and it was so exciting to see it before landing. I flew home from Kenya and the plane had to land to refuel in Cairo. I got a superb view of the pyramids in the desert. I went on a small plane in the Maldives. I got an excellent view of the tropical islands and the amazing looking reef. Yes, London looks amazing from the air.

Las Vegas is impressive but it's too much of everything! That's about the only one I've seen at night besides the main city close to mine and of course I think it's beautiful because it's home.

You're right. We always have a bias towards our own home. Bet Las Vegas is a picture to look at!

I don't usually looked below when I am in plane because I feel dizzy and going to vomit when I do that, I just look outside the window but never below, that's why I missed everything when I am above the sky.

I felt like that the first few times I was in an aeroplane, but now I am used to it as the first time I flew was some 15 years ago

I love flying into any airport at night aslong as we land safely. But I do agree London does look good

True, I imagine that most cities look fantastic when they are lit up at night. I like it when the plane lands safely too!

Hi UK_Shree.. I like most to look at from above is Norway especially on winter time. Everything is so purely white and crystal like, the mountains, hills and almost everything. At first I thought I was looking at clouds and I realized that its actually the land of Norway.

It sounds gorgeous. I remember a similar scene when landing in Innsbruck, Austria, although it was during the daytime. Still beautiful though.
