Are you a clock watcher?

For what reasons do you watch a clock? A friend of mine lives such a regimented, structured existence that she checks the time about every ten minutes..... she just can't handle not getting everything done in a timely fasion. We are polar opposites, and make each other nervious when we are together. I'm not exactly sure what sustains our friendship. But she's a dear. I always notice clock watchers for some reason. Like it the grocery store it is easy to tell which clerk is waiting for a break or will get off soon. It is humorous to me. I find myself lately watching the clock with interest of what time it is in other parts of the world. Thinking about friends in other countries, knowing they must be going to bed now, or just getting off work. It is kind of fun to me. Especially fun thinking of these friends. What makes you watch a clock?

I watch the clock when i am on mylot or when i am online with my friends. It just makes me wonder what the time from their end is. So, i usually ask them then, when i know our time difference i make a list because i have online friends from different countries. It is kind of exciting for me to know the time from different places.

I don't have a structured timetable at all sweet sis so very rarely watch the clock, in fact the only time I really do is when the kids are sue home or to make sure they are not going to be late to leave for school, church , judo etc. I have given up trying to figure out what time it is where my friends are - I just end up very confused and befuddled when I do that! lol Hugs xxxx

because I have to be places at certain times, I tend to watch the clock because when I'm cooking, thing need to come off the fire or out of the ovan at certain times, so I'm watching the clock when I'm home and don't have to be any place, I'll go to bed at 6 if I'm that tired - like I'm on my way now - its almost 10

Hi makingpots! I do admit that I was a clock watcher before but that was when I was still handling two business: a store that caters to wholesalers and retailers and a wedding shop. It was hectic at that time, have a lot of appointments and deadlines to keep up. But those were the days. Now, I only check the clock when it is time for me to cook and eat. LOL! Most of the time I just look outside and see where the sun is at. haha..I even don't know the date sometimes. haha..But when I do have some orders for my crafts, I get to check the time every now and then if my production is on time. Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith

I hear ya, my friend. I often do not know what the date is. Sometimes I think that is very bad of me, but somehow I survive. I ALWAYS know the day of the week, that's what I need to know the most.

I watch the clock when I am cooking and I have to run out into the kitchen from the living room where I was working on the computer, I also watch the clock when I have to take the bus because I time it perfectly.

When I was working I would watch the clock when it was close to lunch time or when it was getting late in the afternoon. Now I don't pay much attention. I am sometimes astonished to see while I am on the computer that time has flown by.

My life is very much regulated in th morning hours. I have some 5-6 alarms set on my mobile. They go off at various rimes. The first at 4.50 AM for me to get up. The last at 7.45 to wake up a friend of mine. In between various alarms for different exercises. Then an alarm to go to office and so on. On ehas t lead a regulated life or else one is always late.

I used to play those kind of games with myself when I worked full time. Somedays were just bound to be really long days and I would tell myself I couldn't look at the clock on those days. Late in the day when I could catch a glimpse I was always pleased...

Makingpots Being A Clock Watcher I'm watching the clock right now as matter of fact in 15 minutes I'm off from the journey of broke! However I do watch the time all day long ya never know when you will need to verify the time you witnessed something happening or just want to stay on time for an appointment. I am also a people watcher now that's really interesting to study.

No I'm not. In fact, I seldom wear my wrist watch for the reason that I don't want to hurry things up or be pressured about anything because of time. It seems for me that I would fail to enjoy life and the people around me if I kept on being time-conscious. Nevertheless, I am always prompt in appointments.

We are just alike in this regard, mjmlagat. I have to wear my watch daily because I am used to the feeling on my arm, but it seems I only look at it when I put it on and take it off.

I watch a clock most often when I am having a meeting. Yup, I've got a boss who talks so slowly and likes to drag the meeting to whole 2 hours and that's driving me mad. I find myself watch the clock every ten minutes then, lol. Other time clock is nothing to me and I enjoy the feeling of not knowing what time it is and just do my things. See, this is one of the strong points of living alone, heehee. I guess your friend doesn't really mean to know the time every time she checks it. Could it be just a habit?

Uggh, I used to have a long winded boss like that. She'd keep us in two hours meetings talking about things that need to get done..... I'd sit there thinking "let us go get them done!!!"
