Another victory for states rights, Medical marijuana laws.

This absolutely stunned me.
Many states now have medical marijuana laws of some sort, but it is still completely illegal by federal law. Now, this has never been a constitutional authority for federal law, not because the founders didn't imagine pot, but simply because it isn't there as listed responability, which, by the 10th amendment, makes it a matter of state law.
However, federal laws have constinually persecuted and prosecuted people in states where medical pot is legal, going over state law enforcment's heads and stepping on the toes of the state laws and rights as a soviergn state.
In what can only be termed as a broad victory over this usurping, Attorny General Eric Holder announced that the Justice Department will no longer be conducting raids on medical marjuana and in effect, stop enforcing federal prohibition in this particular area.
This is the power of the state at work and illustrated beautifully.

Yay! Finally! AWESOME!
*cough* And that basically sum up what I think. xD
Here's hoping that this is the sign of a trend on the federal government's parts.

The Feds never should have been doing this in the first place. It is a state issue not a federal gov. issue. Nice to know they finally figured that one out. The federal gov. does not have the right to over rule the laws of any state.

I agree this is a state issue. Once again the arrogance of federal government! Holder's view on this I actually agree with!

This is sort of surprising. With the federal government continue to grow in size and seemingly trying to strong arm states it is odd that they would let this go. However, I can see it this way. They spend less on law enforcement, allow sales which in turn creates taxes and thus brings in more money for them to spend on all the other projects they are trying to sneak by. What is the current spending spree at now?
