Hi friends, What do you do if your system does not start when you start if after you wake up? Do you get frustrated? Or do you take care of it later? Or Do you check what happened to it at that time only by staying cool minded? Did you experience this kind of situation any time in your life? Share your feelings... I had faced this situation 3 times in my life till now. At the first time i got frustrated as i dont have much knowledge about system and hardware. But for the rest of the times i repaired it myself. Happy myLotting...

my friend's desktop went like that this week. It will boot up to windows kernel then show the safemode, safemode with networking page, etc. it won't boot up to its desktop. I tried to help her with it but since I don't have that much tools to really isolate the problem, we weren't able to fix it. We did a tear down and reseated the cards inside, I checked everything, the sata, the memory module, etc. But they didn't work. I tried booting up to the last known good, the all the safemode options or even normal booting but it would just go back to that black page on the boot up options.waaaaaaaaaaah! I tried the functions keys on her keyboard but they're not working too. It made me think that her pc's software was compromised with worm and virus. I'm not sure sicne I couldn't boot up to the windows with safemode and the function keys were not working. I was so frustrated that I wasn't able to sleep much for two days. Do you have any idea what might be the problem to it? thanks a lot swaroopmsc... ^_^

Hi kissieme... I think the problem is with the hardware. Contact your hardware engineer to solve the problem. The problem may be with the motherboard. Remove the RAM and switch on the system. If you get any message on the screen then it would be the problem with RAM, otherwise it would be of motherboard. Happy myLotting...

thanks I will try that when she gets back from her parents' place. I don't have an extra memory module to swap it with to isolate the problem cuz I use a laptop not a desktop lol... thank you so much. I will take the memory module out and check it when she gets back... ^_^

I had such experience a couple of months ago. Whatever I did, the computer wouldn't just start up, it didn't even give any response! I had some knowledge about computer, but i cant figure out what's going on. finally i gave in and sent it for professional aid. That experience is really not a good one.

Well, the fact is that I don't even know the cause till now! They had the computer checked but find nothing abnormal. That's strange, isn't it? Probably it will come out again suddenly some day in the future and I hope I can fix it at that time.

This has happened to me many times. It happened also 3 days back. In the morning when i switched on the computer the windows boot screen came and a blue screen error came and restarts. I removed everything and cleaned all the dirt and fixed it back and it was fine. Common problems for these is due to dust in ram or if the vga cable is not properly plugged. Have a nice day

Before I panic, I'll try to check if the computer is properly plugged in. If it still doesn't start up, I'll text my boyfriend for help. _

theres not much to a pc, if it doesnt start up put it into safe mode usually by using F9 that should start it in safe mode. If not then it prob is your boot drive you can then look at using the discs that vista etc etc will of prompted you to make on first start up if you made them of course. Other than that worse case total re-boot but thats like hitting a nail with a sledge hammer abit of overkill and I have had pc probs a number of times but always stay cool as they are pretty easy to sort out if you know how.

Hi swaroopmc If the computer is not starting up,I will get worried. No doubt about it. I will try my best to set it right.I will see any cable is having loose connection. Reconnect all cables. Try to start it two three times. Then i will immediately ring up to my computer engineer. I may have to wait for his arrival to start my computer. Happy mylotting

This usually happens when windows is "messed up". Sometimes, win dows registry gets so messed up that windows does not start up, and u have to reinstall it..:)

I would bash the keyborad first then kick it. If that does not work, it would go out the window

I try to fix it calmly. When I can't fix it, then I do get frustrated and I want it to be fixed right away. That's why you gotta make sure your computer's in top shape and just not expect for it to die on you one day.

I just stay cool minded and see whats wrong. because i know i cant go back to sleep again. So i just open the case, replug everything and keep testing. If the system was working when i slept, then it would be solvable easily. happy lotting friend.. :)

I have encountered the problems like this sometimes, my PC is an intergrated computer, sometimes its hardwares seems can't work problely after it had been used for more that one and half years. Blue screen, the network card can't work and even the power can't work, it was frustrating but i have to trid something to check the problem, it was luckly that i was not just rookie about computer after the PC had been used usd for such a long time, i always could get most of the problems fixed if they happened. just calm down and check how the problem happens, i think this would be mome useful for us to fix the problem.
