is it always best to be honest?

ok i always thought that it was best to be honest with your other no matter what it was but someone brought it up today that it might not always be best to be honest with the other, because he said that his girlfriend was getting her hair cut and she ask him for his honest opinion of it and what he thought about it and what he thought it would look like on her, and he told her honestly that he didn't like it or think it would look good, and then he told me about when she cooks and other girls cook they want to hear that its good even if thats not the truth, and i guess if i don't want to hurt someones feelings that i'm not always honest about things like that, so what do you think, is italways best to be honest or try not to hurt someones feelings? i would like to thank you in advance for taking the time out of your day to come by and read my discussion and try and help me with my discussion, thanks and have a safe and happy weekend, happy mylotting!

People should be honest, but I know that they are not always honest because sometimes you cannot be. If you know that the truth is really going to hurt someone, then you have to hide if from them sadly.

I really appreciate your response to this discussion ben. For me, it is always good to be honest no matter what it is even if it hurts someone. At least by your honest opinion, they would know whether good or bad, what is really the truth. Keep it up BEn, continue to live your life being honest!

With everything, I always wanted to be honest even if it would hurt someone, whether my friends or my family. Because I believe, with honesty, things are going to be better than with lies. I really hate if others would lie to me just to prevent from hurting me. I would rather choose to get hurt with truth than to stay pleased and happy with lies.

some people wnt the truth but cant handle it really. either way its the only thing you will get from me :) which is why my relationship with my best friend is so amazing...we can say anythin and not get offended :) just respect the opinion. i love that about her lol. its great!! i tell her off and kick her up the behind when shes messin up on somethin even if she has to hear it she wil come back smiling at me. i think its great to be honest can only hope the people that cant handle the truth right now, realise how good it is later however many years it takes them lol
