Poker night means ME time!!

Hubby's poker night with the guys equals quality ME time! Tonight was one of the best ever.
I like to pamper myself, get the kid to bed early, hot oil treatments on my hair, exfoliating scrubs all over, mud mask on my face and various other things that make me feel amazing. I like to fall asleep on the couch reading a book with jazz music playing in the background and be awaken with a kiss when hubby gets home.
Tonight I dosed off on the couch while letting my mud mask dry on my face. I was awakened by my 4 year old touching my facing saying "what's wrong with your face mommy?" Poor little thing looked terrified. Haha, I really don't think he has seen me like this. I took him back with me to help wash it off. When we were finished and he was sure I was fine he asked so sincerely, "why do you do that to your face?" When I told him I do it to make my face pretty he said, "but your face was already pretty"
. What a love!!!

how sweet that little boy was to his mom. aren't they precious? i have all the me time i ned & more. i need to do all that stuff but i don't. never have been primpy enough. like to be clean & that's about as afar as it goes w/me. glad u sre taking care of yourself.

Oh, that would have been a great photo!!! I would have liked to have seen that one. LOL
That is the sweetest thing, ever! Don't you just love little kids?
I get a lot of free time, these days, so I have more time to do what I want and I am loving it! I am getting a bit selfish, lol.

My thing is to go up the street to the coffee shop for a mocha latte, and sit there with my book and read for a few hours. Once hubby gets himself a new computer, and we will no longer need to share mine, I'll be able to take the computer with me up there and get a little bit of work done, using their hi-speed hot spot. I go up there almost every day.

Not that is a positive thing you and hubby do. He has his time with the fellas, and you have that time to do you and it works out for all concerned. That is a great idea. Makes a lot of sense to me. Let him have his time and you have yours. Yes, I make time for myself. Do it a lot.

LOL Thank you! Promise I will pamper myself very soon. Niamh is desperate togive me a make over (which is a bit frightening - yes she has lots of makeup but she is 7!!!) and is always wanting to help with my body lotion etc so we may have a girly day next weekend - too late this weekend , she is at church now and we have to go to the supermarket this afternoon or there will be no food next week! Maybe we could buy some girly treats when we are there? Yep that is a great idea! Hugs xxx

You are sweet! I don't agree with prettying yourself up, my lovely sis, but if you can't remember the last time you pampered yourself it has been too long. Don't make me come over there and lock you in your bathroom.

I don't have anyone that goes to poker night so I can do it anytime I want..and yes I do sometimes just quit all the working I do at home and take a night to color my hair..do my nails....do a mask....and other things...and it does feel so good to get it done and make yourself feel special!

Hi Pots! Aaaaaw, that is so sweet of your son to say! I am sure your heart is beaming with joy! I am happy for you to have that quality time, you deserved it. I really have no fixed time or schedule when to pamper myself nowadays. I only do the "ME" time any day and any time that hubby could be gone for hours and hours. haha..The longer his appointment is, the better for me. LOL! And the last time I pampered myself was last January, quite a long time huh?!

What a cute story. I have a lot of me time really. I tend to spend it here. Dull boy I know. I used to go fishing, but I just don't have the energy for that now - that sounds bonkers. You don't need much energy to fish! I do like to lie in bed with a good book and enjoy myself. NO. I don't mean like that!!! (Not that there's anything wrong in that. Oh heck. When you're in a hole stop digging. So I will.)

Awwwwww, I miss having little kids around.
I can't even remember the last time I pampered myself. Heck, I am doing good if I get to shave my legs without being interrupted!

Ohmigosh, can I relate. I get motivated to go to the gym just because my son plays in the child area and I can shower and 'actually shave my legs'.... no kidding. Forget getting a good workout, I'm there for the uninterupted shower!!!
