The Other Cancer---Inflammatory Breast Cancer

Canada

Most of us girls, women....have been fairly well schooled on what to look for in self examinations for breast cancer! But ladies, there is another type of breast cancer which accounts for up to 5 percent of all breast cancers in the US! It doesn't have a telltale tumor...but unusual symptoms that are often ignored & misdiagnosed....as the symptoms often mimic an infection! It is known as Inflammatory Breast Cancer! I truly was not aware of this cancer, so would not have thought too much, if I would have had the following symptoms, which can be rapid onset! Rapid change in appearance, redness, swelling & warmth....increase in size...heaviness, burning, tenderness....pink, red, purple or bruised...ridges or appear pitted! There are many other symptoms that DO NOT mimic breast cancer, as we know it! The purpose here is that I am hoping that you will take a moment to go to either one of these links; www.mayoclinic.com/health/inflammatory-breast-cancer or watch this 6 minute video; www.youtube.com and click on the link! I just stumbled on this information on a site, mostly dedicated to women, and wondered if there were a lot of us who were not aware of IBC, and really & truly thought I would like the ladies to be aware! Hope you all have a great weekend! And Cheers!

It is true what you are saying because I read an article about this type of cancer. I think that is starts as an infection ner the nipples and rash but I am not sure of this. However we have to examine ourselves and do annual medical tests so to be sure.

GAUCI123....Thank you for responding...and I truly do invite you to view/read these articles, because the onset of this cancer has so MANY signs/symptoms that are mis-diagnosed! The infection near the nipples is only ONE small sign...and when you read all the signs & symptoms...it can be only ONE, like redness, or warmth! Please share with all, and have a wonderful weekend!
