Love is required in the family.

Do we have to love our family because we are supposed to? I love my family because I want to... and I love people because I want to. Didn't know it was an obligation.

Love is not a obligation, it is something that you feel from the heart. But where family is concerned you tend to overlook things more because they are family, and you still love them, Like your kids you love them no matter what they do, you may not like something that they do but that love never goes away.

I don't have kids yet, but there are things that my family does that I don't agree with but I still don't feel obligated to love them. I still just love them.

I have a family member that I love because I cannot stop myself. He is horrible to family members and pretends like he has never done anything wrong. There is a long drawn out life story to go with it but my love for him is becuase I have to. I think that it goes with a personal history. I love the rest of my family and want to love them. This peraon I love but I can no longer like, or tolerate. It is possible, and yes sometimes love is an obligation. I am truely happy that you have not had to face that delima. It is hard.

I'm sorry you have to have a difficult situation in the family that I cannot understand. But I can see a vague picture. Best wishes for you and your family.
