I should get extra credit for my stupidity.

This semester, I am taking an 8-week-long distance learning psychology class instead of the normal 16-week-long one. Well, since I don't have to actually go to class, I have never met my instructor. Well, imagine my surprise when I found out that I have been doing the work for the wrong professor!! Talk about embarrassing. At least I've been doing the work for the harder of the two, and they are both the same class. But I've been totally wasting my time by writing paper after paper for one, when the instructor whose class I am actually enrolled in doesn't require even one. Do you know how stupid I feel right now? It makes me wonder how I ever made it to college. So, tell me. How many of you out there have had wonderful moments of sheer intelligence such as mine? LOL

I don't think that it is a waste of time at all, just think of it this way, now you know a little more than before. I have acutally handed in the wrong assignment before. I was reading the directions on one assignment and sent it in. Turns out that I handed in the wrong assignment and I didn't get credit for the work I did do even though it was the next assignment. I guess there are just times in our lives when we get a little distracted from time to time. No worries though, just make certain that from now on you pay extra attention like I have been doing. Good luck and happy mylotting.

well, we all make mistakes in our lives. there is one experience which i went through and i will never forget this. it was a first quarter exam for a certain subject which i went through. the instruction was loud and clear. 'read through the enirety of this examination paper before answering. fill in the blanks only using this paper provided.' as i read through, i cannot help it but answer the blanks as everything was so easy. the first was to write my full name including my middle initial. then my course and section. the third one asked for my age. and so on, everything was fun except when i reached the last number which said, answer only item number 1 and 2. you guessed it right. everybody failed in that exam. from then on, i have learned to follow instructions fully.

That is funny, but in your defense, you said you never met the instructor! Look at it as extra learning for yourself. At one time, I was working two different jobs, one at a factory and one at a restaraunt. The latter job normally started just about an our after the first one ended, and it also required that I work most weekends. One weekend in particular, I knew I had to work, and I got all ready to go, putting on my uniform and everything. Then, I drove to the factory and wondered why there was no one there. Another day, I went to work at the restauraunt out of uniform, reared and ready to run my machine at the factory. The worst thing of all is when I am frantically looking for my glasses or keys when the whole time, my glasses are on my face, or my keys are in hand!

LOL. Welcome to my world. I can't keep anything straight. Here I am trying to finish college after being out for about 4 years. And then there is school for my 12-yr-old and my 8-yr-old that I have to make sure they do well in. And then there are the after school functions they are involved in such as basketball for both, church youth and kids club for both, soft ball for my son, and then there are the endless school dances, after school study classes, friends, etc for my daughter (the 12yo). I am lucky to put my clothes on the correct way every day. Oh yeah, did I mention that I have a 13-month-old daughter, a son on the way in about 3 weeks, and that my fiancee was stupid enough to get himself into trouble, so right now I am a single mother? Stuff like this happens to me every single day. I was just so proud of myself that I was actually making progress in this class. I was doing so well.

hi, friend. i hope that you will be able to cope despite all these difficulties in life that we will have to deal with from time to time. i believe that it is common among so many of us to commit some errors of this type in our lives. yes, i agree with you that it is so much time wasted there. however, somehow, you have been learning in some ways while you did all those 'required' paperworks. you didn't really lose anything but instead, you gained knowledge all the more.

Yeah it happens. Mine is mainly with wrong dates things are due. Usually I am ahead of time rather than late, which works out. I also take classes in eight week segments, and I love it. I just finished up one eight weeks with three classes, and will head into another eight weeks this week. I find the time goes by much faster! Good luck to you!

Never had such an amazing experience. THough, aometimes while going for an proactive approach I have done a lot of pre-reading which was later on never taught in the class. So this alll stupid stuff has been done by me.

I have the similar experience in class, but my classmates have told me the exact professor's lecture I have to attend. It is my luck not to waste my time and find my right place of my lessons. After all you have learnt a lot in the the class of psyohology, which is your wealth! Anyway wish you happy every day!

Oh, I've had a few doozies. I've gone to the wrong classroom, for example. Or done the wrong (harder!) assignment. Or, on one memorable occasion, brushed my teeth with Preparation H instead of toothpaste. Look at it this way: By writing papers for the harder professor, you've probably learned more, and it's more likely to stick in your head. So even though you made a mistake, maybe you did a good thing in the long run. And at least you were brave enough to confess to it and get things straightened out, most people would have been too embarrassed!

It happens sometimes, we all have our extreme stupid and extreme bright moments. It is funny story although. I haven't had a problem similar to your but I had a final exam two days ago and as I'm the great panicker when the professor asked the question I answered him immediately with one stupid mistake; when he asked how many octets does the IP number have I answered like this: "48 bits divided by 8 means it has 7 octets..." Professor kept starring at me and then I realized what I had said and I started laughing. Stupid story but it is also a part of student's life. Don't think you've been wasting time on doing the work, I'm sure you have learned something new and that is what the being a student is.

If I wasn't able to laugh at myself, then I would be hiding in a hole. LOL. I used to get upset, but then I realized that I was upset all of the time. Now, I just make a joke about it, and go on.
