if i have no plans of cashing out my earnings here, do i need to verify my paypal with a credit/debit card? my friends told me that the fees of linking my credit card are almost as much as the earnings... or at least the bother isn't worth it unless you're earning thousands online. they say i don't have to cash out my earnings anyway because i can always just use the earnings to just buy online. i have always been afraid of linking my accounts to paypal because of those fees. it seems the suggestion above is sound, in my case. i also don't believe in credit cards (it's a personal preference), so it's convenient for me not to verify my paypal account. is there anyone here who earns from myLot alone (and not from other online sites)? if your earnings are not that much, wouldn't it be more convenient to just use the earnings as online buying power instead of cashing them out?

hehe. i know what you mean. *smiles too* i heard that facebook has been having problems with hackers. a lot of websites are hacked. i know paypal is probably "unhackable," but i don't trust my computer. it doesn't have a good firewall. if my computer has a keylogger program, then someone can remotely access everything i'm typing! it's through a keylogger that my friend's online gaming account got hacked. the site for the online gaming community was safe, mind you. it's his COMPUTER that wasn't. scary!

Well I have to say that you have nothing to worry about when it comes to fees. I have my Pay-Pal account linked to my banking account. There are no fees to have that linked. Plus not to burst your bubble your account needs to be verified to shop online. I one time thought you not needed to verify your account to shop online but you do so that the places that you shop at online know that you are not going top fraud them out of the payment. I'm not sure why they are telling you that there are a fee to link your Pay-Pal account to your bank account because there isn't. Where do you live? Maybe this has a reason to do with the fee thing. Because with me I live in the USA and there are no fees for me. I hope that this helped you out. Happy Mylotting

hi there! i know there are no fees for verification. i was actually talking about fees for withdrawal. ^_^ since i have no plans of withdrawing my earnings, i was planning on not verifying until necessary. as to whether or not unverified accounts can shop online, the website said it's alright to shop online with unverified accounts but there's an amount limit. also there are other members who use unverified accounts to shop. so now i'm confused. i can't wait to test my unverified account to see if the paypal website is telling the truth. hehe... ^_^

*cross my fingers* i hope i can shop online with an unverified account! hehe. by the way, i was reading my discussion post and i realized it's rather misleading... it's easy to assume the fees i talked about were about verifying, not withdrawing! sorry about that. ^_^

You don't have too. It's only if your using it to pay others there is a limit for non verified. If your only using it for mylot earnings and don't intend on transferring it to your bank account than don't worry about it. Do it when you really need too or feel safe too... I didn't for a long time and used to use my paypal money i earnt to buy something on eBay. It was fun rewarding myself for my efforts..

yey! then i DONT need to verify! then it's true that i can just use my money to purchase online stuff! yey! ^_^ that's a relief! now there are more users who are posting that it's not necessary to verify to be able to use the money. i saw that on the paypal website but other users have been sharing their experiences and they said verification was necessary. but if you used your paypal money to buy online without verification, then i know that what i read on the paypal website was as i understood it. ^_^

you don't have to use a credit card. i just used a debit card. and i did verify it. we don't pay for verification. they will give back the money they took for verifying yoru account. so initially you have to have at least $2 in your bank account. and after the verification they will give or credit the money in your paypal account. so you have not lost anything at all in your verification. and so when you will have more money you can use that money they sent ot gave back to buy things online. and $1 is not so big. so in case you will have $20 in your account and you badly need money it is just $1. and best of all it is for free in case you have 7000 pesos withdrawal. but what i do is i just wait for more money to come into my account before i withdraw my money. but when i badly need money i just withdraw that $20 even with 41 charged for withdrawal. but i don't think that we can buy things online without verifying our account. can we do that. cause i am not much familiar with the things that we can do with our account if it is unverified.

hi there! thanks for your input! hm now i'm also confused like you, hehe. i don't know if i can shop onine with an unverified account! :/ oh, my discussion post was misleading... i meant to say i don't like the withdrawal fees. i know there are no fees for verification. hehe. sorry about the confusion... ^_^ hope i do get 7000 from simpy being online! i doubt it though because i'm not frequently online...

I have a feeling that paypal has different set of rules for different countries that it is operating in.In India it is fairly simple to use it to transfer funds. You need to give your bank details and there is no fee. I just got some money transferred to my bank account and there were no charges. But the rate they give is pretty bad. The day i transferred the funds the dollar = Rs 50.78 and i got Rs 49.56, which is a bit disapointing..other than that the transaction is fairly easy..

hi there! oh, that's too bad that the exchange right is not very good... oh no, perhaps the exchange rates here will be much worse! lol. unfortunately, in our country there are fees for withdrawals from paypal... hopefully that goes away, like in your country. hehe. or maybe your country has fees, but you don't see it because they deduct it at the end of the month? perhaps the fees ar not deducted from your paypal earnings but from your credit card, for example? although i hope that's not the case...

oh... i wonder why there are withdrawal fees here in my country but not in yours. aren't we poor enough? do they still need to deduct a dollar every time we withdraw much needed cash? lol ^_^ i envy you. i should ove to your country! lol i perhaps need to develop trust in online bank transactions. i'm oh-so-scared of typing in bank details on the net!

oh, you better ask paypal about it as well. or perhaps visit their website. i tried visiting their website but the info i got there compared to the input from some of the myLotters here is rather conflicting, so i had to email paypal. even then, i think i'm going to have to see for myself if my paypal account does need to be verified before i can spend it online. hehe. good luck as well!

My boss ran into this same trouble, and with you being an international user, I'd verify. Even if you don't plan on withdrawing... For U.S. users anyway, you can only make payments totaling $2500 before they make you verify the account. My boss was paying for an online service through PayPal for about a year and a half and then one day they wouldn't let her make any more payments. She called customer service and they told her that the limit for any unverified account is $2500. Total. Within the life of the account. So if you verify your account now, you won't run into trouble down the road when you want to buy something and it takes them a week to make the verification deposits.

yep, thanks. :) but i don't think i'll be reaching 2500dollars worth of money here, or even in real life lol. 2500 dollars in my country is 125,000 pesos! whew! i don't think i'll be making that much money in my lifetime in myLot, so i don't think i'll run into that trouble... but if for some reason i earn more than that, then perhaps i will think twice about verifying. ^_^

Hi sandragellar, I'm also from the Philippines. I signed up for paypal a month ago and don't really know what to do with my account since it's also unverified. It's just a comfort to know that it's "there" waiting for me. Anyway, I'm not sure what's going to happen when I reach payout on mylot. I didn't know you had to pay fees to be able to withdraw. I heard the fastest way to withdraw is through the EON card, which also functions as an ATM. Let me know about your progress with this dilemma

and keep me up to speed about your progress as well! ^_^ someone in this discussion, also from the philippines, said she didn't verify her payapl. her husband hasn't as well, and they just use the earnings to buy online. even paypal says it's okay to purchase (but there's an amount limitation) even without verifying. goodluck to us! ^_^

I don't think you would require a verified account if someone is depositing money into your account. You normally need it while purchasing on certain websites. I am not sure about this but this just does not sound good. However, the verification is easy. You just give them the credit card number, they withdraw a small amount from your account and they would deposit it in your paypal account.

but that's the thing... the fees are more than 10% of what i'm going to earn online, so i don't see why i should verify. i se myself earning like 15 dollars a month. giving away almost two dollars to fees just to wthdraw 7 dollars is simply not worth it for me. i'd rather maximize the earnings by buying online instead of withdrawing. paypal said i don't have to verify to purchase online, but i will reach a certain amount where i will need to verify. but the amount limitation they gave was way too high anyway, and i don't think i'll be earning that much from myLot. another myLotter has posted in this discussion that they've been using an unverified paypal to purchase online. after perhaps 2000 dollars, they'll have to verify, but not till then. ^_^

Ok, I'm not sure what fees you are talking about with Paypal, as I have been with them for YEARS and YEARS and the only time they have every charged me a fee is if I sell something on eBay. I also wonder why you would not want to ever cash in you money from this site. It is a fun site to be sure, but the best part about it is that you gat paid for posting and discussing, so why not take advantage of it? I'm pretty sure that there is no fee involved with Paypal if the money is just deposited into your account. They also DO NOT charge you to transfer money from your Paypal account to you checking. I think you should verify it's more fun at MyLot that way.

um, they DO charge withdrawals. ^_^ you see, i'm not from the united states. i'm talking about withdrawal fees. you have to remember that i'm not from the united states. withdrawals from paypal of less than 7000 philippine pesos requires a 50 peso fee (about more than a dollar). so if i withdraw 10 dollars worth of payout from myLot, i pay more than a dollar. yikes! so i'd rather not withdraw the money. filipinos can withdraw without a fee IF they withdraw more than P7000, which i don't see myself earning from myLot in the next 5 years ^_^ instead, i use the earnings as buying power when i'm online.

You do not have to verify your Paypal in order to receive your earnings on myLot. You might have to verify your Paypal if you want to buy things online since Paypal puts a restriction on how much you can spend without verifying your Paypal. I still think it is better for you to verify your Paypal. You do not need to verify it with your credit/debit card. You can purchase a vcc (virtual credit card) from an honest seller to verify your Paypal.

hi! i have no intentions of earning big online, so i don't think i'll need to verify anytime soon. every month, my friend earns about 20 dollars. and she's always online, while i'm not. so i think i'll be earning much less. and with so very few earnings, i don't think the effort of verifying is worth it... as for the limitations, i don't mind. like i said in my discussion post, i don't think i'll get a lot of earnings since i'm rarely online, so perhaps if i rach like 2000 dollars, then that's the time i'll consider verifying. it's just not worth it for me to pay 1 dollar everytime i withdraw 10 dollars... :(
