So it's March 2nd and I haven't mailed my income tax info in yet.
I plan to mail it out tomorrow. I hope.
I put my misc. items together in a pile as they came in.
I bought my mailing envelopes today.
I need to print up my mortage interest statement next.
I will be doing that right after dinner.
Or maybe now, while my chicken is simmering.
Have you done your taxes?
If yes, have you received a refund? How soon did you get your taxes done.
If you haven't done them yet...why not?
Are you a procrastinator like me? Or is something else preventing you from filing?

Good luck with them. I have already done mine and sent them in. I know alot of people that have to pay in and just don't have the money.

Old discussion I know, but I found it ironic, that federal taxes were returned, but the state demanded more, and when all is said and done I was left with the tiniest itty-bittiest return.

Still doing them? Is that from last June? Down here in Australia we
have a cut off date which I think is in October. If your tax isn't
filed by then you are fined and they charge interest on the fine.
I try and do mine as soon as possible but it is also really simple to do.

In the US we start getting our tax forms in January. Employers are supposed to have the information to theie employees before the end of January.
Our deadline to file is April 15th. My goal is to have my documents mailed to my accountant by today (or tomorrow).

I guess I am being a bit of a procrastinator this year. Not sure why other than I know I won't be getting much of a refund if any, and hoping I don't have to pay any taxes. So I think that is why I am dragging my feet a bit more than usual.

I always wait until the last minute because we always have to pay. But I will have to get it done by next week since my husband and I are separating and he does not know how to do it. Boy is he going to get a surprise next year.

My hubby was away all of last month and decided to leave it till he got back last weekend. It looks like we have to pay a little this year instead of receiving a refund like we did last year. He says he's in no hurry to file LOL

We are waiting for one more piece of information and then I will be working on them. I am in no rush as we have to pay this year.

I did mine last month and was able to e-mail them. The next day I got notice from my stock broker that one of my account had not reported yet, I should get that by the end of this month and then I may have to amend them. I didn't even think I still had that account, I thought I'd lost it all. Will just have to wait and see.

I always do my own taxes. I used to work for a CPA. The scary thing is anyone can do your taxes. If they make a mistake it is still your fault. I know. I worked for a CPA. So anyway, I do my own taxes and I already filed them over the internet. I was so happy it only took two weeks to get my federal refund. I'm still waiting on the state.
