It scares me that i might wake up one morning and find that I've turned into a sensible mature adult I can't see it happening anytime soon

You are too funny Wizzywig , lol Well I think it depends on the person. I noticed my kids seemed to mature most when they were around 25 years old. I did pamper them a little though , that could have caused them to mature slower then some. It does depend on what is all put on a child. Certain situations will force them to grow up faster then usual . Alot of kids seem to grow up too fast now days. I think thats a shame .

Yes, it is so sad that the innocence of childhood seems to be so short now. There are so many 'attainment targets' to be reached and so much pressure from the media/fashion industry etc that children seem to be 'mini-adults' before they've had chance to play and explore the world they live in.

maturity depends on each individual. though there is a minimum age when we all stop slowly doing childish things.. i have seen both young kids acting in a ver mature manner and people who have the age but havent matured mentally and act like kids.. so i dont know if ther is an exact age but the society, surroundings and the place surely affects the maturity of a person.. for example if a kid has got lot of responsibilities at a young age then he will mature earlier than many of his friends.. thank you rahul

it somewhat depends on age and somewhat upon the nature of a person. Some people cant show their maturity even when they have crossed half their age and some can be matured even when they are in their 20's , all this depends on the conditions and situations in which the person has lived, on the type of his life, the events that occured from his childhood etc etc.

i think its different for everyone.. me and my hubby were both mature before our years while i know people in their 40s that seemed to be as responsible as a 10 year old..

I am 36 and I still don't feel mature. I guess you become mature when you think are. I don't ever want to grow up. It's just not fun! Of course, I have had many life experiences, some good, some bad. But, I haven't let these experiences bring me down.

It's experience, whether by some big situation or proboem you went through or little things along the way. Maturity level differs in every person there is no actual age. Plus it's very hard to define the word "mature." Because you can be mature for a child, and still immature for an adult. A mature teenager might look very immature next to a mature adult, it's such a relative deifinition and depends so much on context.
