I go out and usually when I go anywhere I have my children with me, we have 4 ages 8, 7, 5 and 10 months, and people look at me like I am crazy! I don't get it. I get asked all the time "How do you do that?" and people comment on how they have X number of children and are going out of their minds. Maybe I am just used to it but overall my children are very behaved...more so when we are out in public that home sometimes but still pretty well behaved none the less. I have watched tv and seen Jon & Kate + 8 and that seems like alot to me....granted the 6 are all the same age so that in my opinion makes it a bit harder. I have also seen the other family on tv, the Duggars I think they are, and they have what??? 17 plus 1 on the way if I remember correctly.
So the question I am getting at is......what is considered alot of children?

Hi callahanb78.I think having four children is just about right.I would say it's an average-sized family.I would consider six to be a lot already...but it's just my opinion.
You have such lovely and adorable children. They're the ones on your avatar, right? They all look very happy and sweet little angels.
Thanks.Have a great day!

you have 5 kids all in all...WOW!
my parents had only 3 siblings, including me. same goes to our other relatives who have two to three son/s and daughter/s. i think that is the ideal number of kids families here in the Philippines want to have for a variety of reason. some are for financial security while some are because the husband is concerned about her wife bearing more than three kids.
i think that having many kids have their own advantages and disadvantages.
for me the disadvantages and of having a lot of children are, well first, the problem associated financially."do you have the ability to raise all of them and make sure that they all go to college?", "could you give them a nice if not a beautiful life?",
"can you provide them all their needs?", "do you have the proper time nurturing, and taking good care of them, all of them?"...if you answer "YES" then, having lot of children is not a problem.

I have two elder sisters, one elder brother, and i'm the least girl in my family. So my parents are also have 4 children.People always say that there are so many children in my family, because now almost each family only has one child. But i don't think so,I think one child will feel lonely,no friends play with him/her if parents are not stay with him/her.So i like many sisters or brothers in one family,it's always lively and interesting, and there is always having a good atmosphere.

"many children" depends on, in general, what your country deems many. here, in the philippines, considering it is a developing third world country, 3 is the recommended no. of children. i go like, "what?" my husband has a job, also has part time jobs and monthly expenses for my family which includes only my husband and child is always an uneasy territory. 3 children! when most families here just try to get by on a day to day basis.
guess, you're in a better part of the world. so, i think many is when you hardly find the time to clean the house, be a good wife and mother and when you feel you won't have the time anymore for growth.
