I just happened upon this on the Internet today and at first I thought this was a joke however I now realize that this is serious. Watch this video as a pretty blonde lady demonstrates how to serve up homemade squirrel melts for her hungry son. I will never look at a squirrel the same way again.
Has anyone on here ever eaten squirrel meat? I just don't think I could do it. Maybe if I was starving to death but other than that I just don't think I could.
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

Sorry, I didn't want to watch the video but I was practically raised on wild game. We were poor and Dad hunted on the weekends when he wasn't working. He brought home squirrel, rabbit, pheasant, duck and deer. It was all delicious!
I would not hunt because I don't need to and would never kill anything just for fun. But I know that if I ever need to, I can feed myself.

I don't think so........not even if I were starving...I would rather eat grass! LOL....but I do know someone who has eaten that sort of thing...but I don't like anything, shall we say "wild"! Not deer.....not anything that isn't domesticated!

My mom's family was a hunting family and when I was younger we would have squirrel and dumplings or rabbit stew. Venison, of course, as well. I remember one Thanksgiving we had a duck that was shot on the family pond. I do not do wild meat often now, though. Sometimes venison, but that is about it.

Oh really? I know that if the squirrel was already roadkill, there are people who scrape them off the pavement or the road and then cook them and eat the meat for their meals.
Im really not sure if I can swear off squirrel meat in my list of exotic foods to eat since Im really adventurous when it comes to food and I do love to eat.
However, I really cannot let myself eat dog meat no matter how delicious looking the presentation might be.

I just noticed that your avatar is a squirrel! Wouldn't that make you a cannibal?
I know that some people really do eat roadkill but I just don't think I could do it. First of all I would be scared the thing might have had rabies or maybe someone had put out poison to kill it. You just never know...
[i]Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!!

kind of like microwave pork, best way i can put it.
my cousin used to make squirrel stew (according to her,it takes 12 squirrels to make a "decent" stew)...and..well,if i were hungry i'd eat it,but i really didn't like it that much.

I just can't imagine eating this! I am sorry but I don't think I will ever eat squirrel meat. I don't think I can bring myself to do it.
I saw the video, I thought the first part was funny how she was showing her son how to do it and encouraging him along!

You do have a point there. It is better to be safe that sorry
