What do you put in your coffee?

There was a discussion the other day about whether or not people needed coffee to get going in the morning. For those of you who drink coffee, is there anything strange you like to occasionally put in it? I usually put cream and sugar in mine, but when I get the chance, instead of sugar I like to put a large spoonful of black strap molasses in my coffee. Does anyone else have some odd coffee-drinking habits?

Turmeric? Really? That sounds odd. No odder than what I do, I guess. At least turmeric is good for you.

I looked up some stuff on turmeric and saw that it was beneficial in a lot of ways, including helping skin breakouts. I have trouble with that. You may have accidentally helped me with your "odd" coffee suggestion. Technically, you're supposed to put it on your skin, but I don't see why I can't put it in my coffee, too. Thanks!

I just put hot water and that is what I need to make a good cup of coffee. I do not care for cream or sugar. Cheers!!

I wish I could regularly drink my coffee black... the only time I drink coffee black is when I'm really tired, really upset, or have a hang-over. I'm sure it's a lot better for you to drink black coffee than coffee with sugar and cream - or at least less fattening.

No, the only things that I will put in my coffee would be, sugar, cream and milk. If I would put anything strange in it it would be cinnamon. That is as far as I would go. But cinnamom isn't too strange, is it?? lol.. But other than that this is all that I would put in it..

No, you aren't strange. My aunt puts cinnamon in the coffee she brews in the morning. She actually sprinkles it in the basket with the coffee beans. It tastes really good that way.

I add a LOT of milk in mine, not cream, but milk hehehe. I usually heat it up before adding my coffee in it. And I add a lot of sugar. I think when I can, I'll try your molasses bit.

I don't know if it'd be really considered strange or not, but I only ever put raw sugar into my tea and coffee. When I first started drinking it, we only had raw sugar in the cupboard at home, so that's what I used. I guess I just got used to it, because sweet white sugar tastes absolutely disgusting to me. I'll rarely drink coffee at a cafe' or anything because of this. Sweet sugar just ruins it for me.

I can understand what you mean about overly-sweet coffee being gross. When I use white sugar, I don't use a lot. Half a spoonful, maybe, mostly to take the bitterness out. I sometimes use brown sugar, but prefer the molasses because it isn't overly sweet and has a more complex flavor than refined sugar.

When i used to drink coffe i put a lot of sugar and milk. Then i learnt about honey and i started instead of sugar to put a spoon of honey in it.It is healthier than sugar and it has the same taste.

Although I drink my morning coffee black and strong, I also like to switch it up during the day. The other day I put some chocolate soymilk in my coffee and it was really good. I think I will try Vanilla next! Have a great day!

hey normally i put only the regular stuff - coffee powder ( or filterd decoction ), sugar, cream and milk.. once i really got crazy and tried out several combinations.. Added some amount of Hershey's Chocolate Syrup.. It ended up nice with cold coffee but was Ok (not bad though) with Hot Coffee.. Once I added salt and the entire cup of coffee ended in the sink..
