I currently Work at Wal-Mart and was wondering if anyone has had good/bad experiences working the backshift. They offer a dollar premium for working overnight, but I am not sure it is worth losing sleep or sleeping all day for, seems like I am sleeping my life away for the sake of an extra dollar an hour.

It will really depend on you. Try to weigh the advantages and disadvantages if your going to work overnight. Is it worth it? Can your body and mind handle it? If the result for working for the extra dollar is you getting sick then its not worth it. Maybe you could do a test run and see if you could handle working overnight.

It depends on the situation of the employee.Whether he really needs to earn as much as what the company where he works is offering right now or not. If he accept such offer, there are some consequences that he will face.Earning more than your base salary would be better for most of the people. However, it will let you sacrifice your time for your self even for leisure and it's very stressful!Working the backshift will make a challenge on his part and it's uncomfortable even though your earning that much.

It is all within you if you want an overnight work, let say they really offer extra compensation if you don't want to do so why should you?.. but being given that chance of an extra dollars for an hours you will gain much dollars for you. it is too much when you will totally found yourself being there.
