I have used 3 kinds of anti virus kit:Kingsoft,Kaspersky,ESET.The Kingsoft is a chinese brand. Now,I think the ESET is the best one.It has quick responses and less resource requirements.

I use AVG and McAfee together and i would say they are both very good, AVG comes with alot of good components to use.

I used to use Norton, but it's a worm magnet. Panda is a great program and for daily clean up I use GlaryUtilities. It's a nice free utility that works wonders. I don't use AVG because it just doesn't cover enough, neither does Trend. Panda Security and Glary Utilities, you just don't need anything outside of those two. My programer swears by them and after I used them I know why.

avg - the antivirus in one pact solution.
the antivirus installed in my pc is AVG. The program offers, in one compact solution, the basic instruments for the protection from any virus infection.AVG, in addition to the scanner module and the memory-resident, offers a feature that will make automatic scanning of e-mail looking for infected arrachments.

You can go for ESET NOD32 Antivirus...It detects almost 98.8% viruses, spywares & other infectious drills...One of the advantage or reliability of NOD32 is its small virus definition update(50KB-300KB only)...it get updates whenever u connect to internet & takes almost seconds to do so...its beta version is out & soon stable version will be released...you can try its trial version for testing...[;)]

Here in the office, we use Kaspersky and it's pretty good since we use Vista on our machines. At home, I prefer Avast! Home edition. It's free and very effective. It also has a boot-time scan which I use regularly. The only problem with Avast! is that when your computer starts up, it immediately starts up and scans the start-up stuff.

For me, it is MALWAREBYTES' anti-Malware. It was able to delete all the rootkits, worms and downloaders that keeps on coming back on my personal computer. It is indeed better than AVG. I've tried Spyware Doctor, Kaspersky, Avira, Panda and Bitdefender but they can't seem to delete the ati2isxx.sys file that is residing on my computer. Malwarebytes' anti-malware is really good. It removes all the malicious software and all of its components in my hard drive. Give it a try!

Please ensure you do not use more than one antivirus software on the computer. Infact even if one is expired make sure you get rid of it before installing another one. Use Kaspersky or Norton or even avast. Mcaffe is not too good in my opinion.

I find the the lightest and most affective anti-virus to be AVG, I have used the free program for over three years and it proves very affective... Pluss its free.. I used to format my computer twice a year due to spyware and or viruses, but the combination of vista's defender and AVG free, I havent formatted due to anything but upgrades.
