I usually don't have a choice, what with family wanting to celebrate it and all. And it'd be unfair on my two young neices to not be there - i think christmas really is only magical when you are young. The older you get, the more stressful it becomes, and the more I want to leave the country and spent christmas on a beach under the blazing sun, sipping sangria and not having to worry about looking happy when i open my next pair of socks.

Honestly? I think I might not always celebrate Christmas if it wasn't for my kids. If I were single and childless, I might get with other single, childless friends and go out to eat or something, but really, Christmas is just another day of the year. If you can't have the Christmas attitude all year round, then it doesn't do much good to express it on only one day, does it? I think Christmas wouldn't be such a big deal if people were that nice all year round.
