WOW what a GREAT comment/ question. We have many local tree farmers that open up the day after Thanksgiving. 1st I try to support my local small bussiness. Alot of the pre cut ones around here are brought in from other states. 2nd They usally charge $25 to cut down your own and i have seen ones that are pre cut for $50. I am a stay at home mom and watch my pennies. 3rd. I dont know when the pre cut ones were cut and I like to keep mine up for about 5 weeks so I know the one I get is fresh. 4th my hubby chips are up and use it as mulch ect on our property.

I love real trees but with my kids being so little and stuff I've had a fake tree the last several years. I think I'm going back to the real thing this year though....

It is a tradition now in our family to go after Thanksgiving and cut one down. Fake trees would be easier, but you don't have the fun of getting it and the smell. I would miss the smell.

I LOVE the smell of real christmas trees but last year they closed the place we use to go cut trees down at to build a neighborhood. We now have an artificial one =(.

When my boys were little we used to get the real trees. Now, I have a white artificial Christmas tree. It is so pretty once we have the ornaments and lights on it. I really love it.

I grew up always having a real tree, but now that I have two little kids I do have a fake tree, it is so much easier and safer.

I have three fake Christmas trees. I wouldn't dare use a real one in this house. I think they make to much of a mess and the artificial ones I have look real anyway. All this talk of decorating is making me anxious to get started! The babies will love all the lights and this will be my babies FIRST CHRISTMAS! Awwww :)

I love a real tree they smell great but, they can be a real big mess. Fake trees are nice too and look good without the mess or fuss of getting a new one each year.

I love real trees. Wish we could have one. But due to cost and my son having asthma, we will probably stick with a fake one.

I prefer real christmas trees, with out the smell of a christmas tree it just doesnt feel like the holidays. I also cut my own tree each year, it gets us in the christmas spirit.

We use to have a real tree years ago... then the kids came along and well ah a fake tree was easier... The kids got older and we went back to the real thing...but now with my frugalness kicking in.. I am wondering if it is better to buy a tree and use it over and over again....It will save me money in the long run....then maybe not because dh always sees something bigger and better....who knows...getting a real tree may just be one of those expenses that you have to have...
