Let's say that you had the magical power to wipe off one disease from the planet, as if it never existed. What disease would it be and why?

I was going to say HIV/Aids. Because its one of the highest Std's there is. I dont have it of course. I just hear of so many people who didn't know they got it and then ended up giving it to their spouse. Or moms who dont know they have it and give it to their unborn baby. It is something you can give to someone else. Unlike cancer that you cant spread. Cancer would of been my second choice.

i think that would be hiv aids. because people who suffer from this , feel like they are not normal anymore. they find it difficult to mingle with people. they even do not like to tell people about this. their self esteem goes down. its one of the sexually transmitted diseases. even if it has spread through sum other modium like blood donation, use of already used syrine or anything people do not want to disclose it as they feel that others might think that it might have spread sexually. hiv doesnt spread by mingling with the victims. but still the people hesitate to even shake hands with them.

Oh yes, it gives so much psychological and emotional trauma, aside from the physical.

Cancer. Definitely. It is such ascourge to the human race. Find a cure for cancer and then we can tackle the other diseases.

I would say cancer. Its way to easy to get. Sometimes in life you don't even know why you get it. My mom got surprised with bone cancer in her ankles. she is supposed to go to docters as soon as she gets her insurance so she can get a operation to hopefully remove the cancer before it gets worse. we all don't know how bad it is. she's had it for a while. I just found out a few months ago and it scares me.

weepinwillow, For me it will be AIDS hands down. This is the most lethal and deadly disease so far without a known and definite cure. It is so devastating that it could literally wipe out the human race if left on its own without precautionary measures and preventions.

I'd go with the first respondent and get rid of Cancer too. I know that HIV is a horrible disease but there are many times when it's the victim's fault that he/she got contaminated with it (unless of course his/her mother had HIV when she was pregnant with him/her then that seems irresponsible...and irresponsibility isn't really a disease). Cancer on the other hand attacks anyone, even the healthiest people. I think it's a very unfair disease. Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Geez, just one? I would like to get rid of all of them. But if I had to choose just one I think I would choose cancer. It seems that that is the most painful and long process disease. That or lukemia, they just seem to cause people so much pain.

Lets not talk about the known diseases for which Doctors are there to do the job. What about greed, dishonesty and corruption which is eating individuals and society from within, making lives of common people miserable. As we are born with such traits, maybe this is more worthwhile to get rid off from this planet for better living.

starvation I would love everyone to have enough to eat and for people to get back to basics and rediscover cooking at home from scratch mgraham1

Hey, just one ?? I'd have a go at AIDS . . . Many people have said cancer; but cancer is not a disease, rather an entire class of diseases . . .
