Creamie (Creamsickle) is sicker than he was.

I called the St. John's Feral fund and the leader of that said she would take Creamie and put him up for adoption after I get rid of the pink eye. The ear mites are gone, even microscopic tests of dirt in his ears confirm that. But the pink eye keeps getting worse. She asked how he was being treated, I told her what kind of eye drops. She told me he has to get something as a med so it won't go all through him. Well, I looked at his mouth, it looks like the pink eye! I think it's all through him, he's throwing up. She told me a good vet that is better at pink eye. I tried for 2 days to get into that vet, but I can't get in. So I called the vet I use for my regular cat (I didn't use them at first because I couldn't, no hours the night the cat showed up and no walk-in for when it might show up again) and that vet will see him this afternoon. Since this cat has decided to become an indoor cat, that isn't a problem now. It was in the beginning, but not now. If I keep bringing him to a vet, he's going to hate me. I can barely wrestle him into a carrier now! Wish me luck with this cat. I've run out of money. I had to liquid date part of another asset and I hope the $ comes in time for my regular bills. I need words of encouragement. I thought this cat would be better and adopted by now.

Sure hope you get some meds for the cat and he begins to feel better soon. You are such a good person to take care of Creamie and try to nurse him back to health. Are you nursing the cat and going to keep him or put him up for adoption? AM so sorry to hear you have to dig into your assets in order to pay for the treatment of the cat. Please keep us posted.

Yeah, I'm sorry, too. Just spend $100. He will go up for adoption. I've been happy for 9 years with one cat and I can't afford two. St. John's Feral fund will put him up for adoption as soon as he has healed up. This different Dr. agrees with me, it's in both eyes and throughout his system. At these this time he finally got a good physical, meds for both eyes and a liquid anti-botic. He will be on steroids for a little while. Long enough to gain back weight and take down the swelling in his body.

I understand not being able to afford two cats. It gets costly. You can feel good about what you've done for this cat. If it weren't for you, he may not be alive today. Thanks for sharing your story.

I hope he gets better soon. If no improvement in 48 hrs., then I have to go back.

Can't you just take the cat to the pound and they can get him medical treatment, and find him a home. Vet bils are very high and unless you can afford it you are taking away from what you need to pay your bills, if you find a stray cat here and you don't want it you take it to the pound and if it is sick they take care of it.

All pet shelters (we don't have pounds)are at 200% for cats. No one will adopt a pet until it is healthy. I'm on waiting lists, but I'm not holding my breathe.

We spent big bucks on one, and were thrilled to see how he healed up and filled out. That is a good feeling. I hope you get the result you need with your regular vet and that the money comes in for you.

Poor Creamie! I hope he's not going to give it to your other cat

They hate each other, so it won't be from friendly contact. What I am doing is feeding each one separately in the bathroom and I have bowls labeled with each name so that each has a separate water bowl and a food bowl. When one is done eating, I put the food and water bowl away and get another one. Also washing my hands between contact with each one. It's not just creamie giving something to baby, it also could go the other way around because his immune system is having a rough time right now. They've been in the same house for weeks now, so as long as I keep making sure things stay as separate as possible, I hope baby doesn't get it. The good thing about anti-social cats, they don't rub up against each other. But I have had Creamie rub up against my clothes and get them gookie, so I've taken the clothes off and put other ones on before handling the other cat. It's a challenge, to be sure. Some days it gets awfully tiring for me.

So sorry to hear Creamie is still with you and costing you more and more money. Hopefully, the vet can suggest a place for you to take him. I hope he gets better and gets another home.

The St. John's Feral fund has said they would take him and let him be adopted at PetSmart. I'm hoping he gets adopted by the internet listing instead of having to hang out in a cage at PetSmart. They take really, really, really good care of the pets up for adoption, but he wants to be petted so much and so badly he'll try to trap you when you walk away with his paws or he'll flop onto your feet. Just being petted and played with for a few minutes in the am and the pm would make his sad again. He's doing better, his eyes aren't running like crazy which drove me crazy!
