Are you or anybody else you knwo afraid of travelling to a different country? I have known a few people that don't want to go abroad because of their age, not knowing the languge & culture as well as the climate. Has anyone had any experience with this matter? If so could you tell me how to help someone overcome this? thanks :]

i have a friend who doesn't like to go abroad, she says that she is scared of foreign peoples. she likes to stay all the time at home and her job is her life, without any family. so, she's hopeless.

When I was a teenager I traveled to Eastern Europe and had my first experience of language difficulties. I think a smile and a phrase book can help enormously. At that sort of age I had my first experience of a tropical climate when I visited St Lucia.I found it hot and humid. It was difficult to sleep at night. There was an air conditioning system that sounded like a lawn mower. I came across mosquitoes that bit my legs really badly. When I was 20 years old I traveled around the world. I am a very keen traveler and learned much in my first few years of traveling. I have been to over fifty different countries so far and I plan to visit lots more. I really enjoy traveling. The most dangerous countries would scare me and dangerous criminals. Most of the time I feel happy and safe when I go traveling.

Hi there. I would love to travel abroad. I think though when i was younger, it was easier. It was less frustrating to me if I didnt understand something. As we develop less patience, or arent as active to run around and find things out, I think a great way to go overseas and see great main tourist attractions, is to travel with a tour group. This way you dont have to find things on your own as they take you to the main attractions. You have time to look around and on to the next. You have an interpreter who can help you with the language and currency and culture So for much less stress, book with a tour group

When i traveled to visit our parents in the Middle east i did not get scared because i was not traveling alone, i am with my brother. I guess you can suggest your friend to travel with someone who can accompany him/her during the travel. When it was my second travel going abroad, then that is what i get a bit scared because i was alone. It was 3 years ago and i almost got lost in Hongkong airport looking for my flight. I went to the other side, did not notice the number and letter written , that was before, because now they have improved a lot, they have signs and screen tv's where all the flight details are displayed and all. Anyway it was an experience, when i found the right terminal, people are in queue for boarding ,Thank God i still made it.
